Fuck.  This whole thing was still crazy to me.  Why could I only see them if I could see ghosts?  How come Dahlia could see them too?  Why was she in a band with them?

I tried my best to ignore my thoughts while I walked down the hall.  I turned the corner and saw Dahlia at her locker, talking to someone.

Is that...Luke?

She held her phone up to her ear.  I assumed she was pretending to talk to someone on the phone to avoid stares.

As much as I knew I shouldn't, I couldn't control myself.  I walked up to her and Luke as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

It definitely wasn't.

I didn't have any friends here and yesterday was a nightmare.  Dahlia was the only person I knew.

As soon as I caught her eye, she turned to face me.  "Can I, uh, help you?", she asked.

Fuck, this is awkward.  I don't even know what to say.

I quickly made up a lie.

"Can you show me where Mr. Rivera's class is?", I asked.

"...Yeah sure.", she replied.  I could tell she was a little uncomfortable.

"I could show you.", Luke said.

How would he know where that class is?

Luke seemed to pick up on my confused expression.  "I, uh, come here a lot."

"It's fine, Luke.  I'll just take him there myself.", Dahlia said.  "I don't actually think he knows where the classroom is.", she whispered to me, loud enough for Luke to still hear.

"Uh, yeah I do.  B105 right?", he said.

"Oh, yeah that's right actually.", I responded, looking at my schedule.

"Wow, Luke.  I'm impressed.", Dahlia said.  "But, you know, that's pretty sad that you know that.  Maybe you should find a better way to spend your time then following me around to my classes."

He scoffed.  "Come on Jackson." He began walking down the hall.  I turned to Dahlia and laughed nervously before following him.

"So where did you move here from?", Luke asked.

"Bakersfield.", I replied.  Trying to have a normal conversation with a ghost is a lot harder than it looks.

"Wow, what a coincidence.  Dahlia moved from there too.", he said in a tone that made it obvious he already knew that.  "You two have a lot in common.  Do you-"

"She told you, didn't she."

He sighed.  "Okay, yeah she did, but I just want to know more about you guys."

I scoffed.  "So do you guys not have any boundaries or what?"

"It depends on what kind of boundaries you're talking about."

I stopped walking and turned to face him.  "Listen, I don't know what she did or didn't tell you, but what happened with Dahlia and me is between us."
