Boys are jerks

Chris POV

I got to Merediths house and I was out of breath. Jesus I'm getting old. I knocked on the door, no answer. So I walked in and went up the stairs straight to Merediths room. I assumed it was Merediths room because it had her name on the door in black letters.

*knock, knock* "Hey Mer. It's me, Chris."

"No! Go away!"

"Please. Let's talk."

"Whatever."

I creaked open the bedroom door. Meredith was curled up into a ball, with silent tears shredding down her face. My heart broke. I walked over and sat on her bed, embracing her in my arms. She rapped her arms around me and burred her face into my chest. She started balling her eyes out.

"Shh, shh. It's okay. It's okay. Boys are jerks." I whispered, calming her down.

We sat like this for awhile until she calmed down. We stayed quite for a few minutes after her break down and I decided to speak up.

"Meredith." I whispered. She unclinged from my shirt. "Are you ready to talk?" My softest voice on.

"Yeah." Her voice barely above a whisper. She unattached herself from me and sat up. "I walked in on him having sex with his ex-girlfriend. But that's not all. Addison Montgomery was the bitch who bullied me for three years. All throughout middle school. I was thrown against lockers and beaten up, picked on. She made me feel like I was nothing. That's how I became a cutter. Mark and Cristina pulled me out of my funk and I moved away to Boston with my mother. She got a new job. When I came back to Seattle, I was so excited that she was gone. But I guess she is back. I knew Derek never loved me. God I'm so stupid." She rambled, her voice numb. Emotionless.

"Oh Mer. I had no idea. Derek is a asshole for doing that to you. He loves you with all of his heart-."

"If he loved me, why did he cheat? Why? He knew what that evil bitch did to me! He knew!" She cried. I held her close, as she cried. "He knew." She whispered in between sobs. She calmed down but this time did not let go.

"Because boys are jerks. I am totally on your side. Derek is so dead. I'll make sure he regrets the day he was born." That statement. Those few words brought a small smile to her face.

"No one has ever stuck with me. No one has ever loved me. Everyone in my life leaves or hurts me in some way. Thank you. Thank you for loving me."

"Oh Mer. I love you so much. All the Shepherds do. And I'm not standing up for Derek but talk to him. He may have a good reason because you better marry him one day. I'm telling you, y'all are perfect for one another."

"Maybe tomorrow. I'm tried. Chris, can you hold me? Please?"

"Yeah. Of course." And with that, she crawled into my lap and fell asleep. I soon heard soft snores but didn't move. I ended up falling asleep. I am so freaking mad at my own son for hurting my newest daughter. The best girl he has ever dated.

Ok. It's a short chapter but there y'all go. I love Chris and Merediths relationship. The father/daughter duo.
