Summer fun

Meredith POV

I've been out of the hospital for 2 weeks. It's already summer. Wow. The funny thing is that I haven't been to school for a few months but still managed to get all A's. I just don't feel good enough for anybody. I think that Derek is picking up on my odd behaviors because he wouldn't leave my side. He has also hid anything sharp and watches me sleep. I really love Derek but he can be way overprotective. I see a therapist twice a week so I am trying to get better. Derek, Mark, and Cristina know that I'm seeing her. Tomorrow is officially the first day of Summer! Yay!

The next day

I woke up super early today because I am excited. It is currently 7:00 in the morning. I am dressed in a pair white shorts and a dark blue tank top. I climbed through Dereks window. I know it's not the safest but I am a dare devil. Derek is peaceful sleeping cozy in his bed. I am going to jump on him to wake him up. 3...2...1 I jumped on him and started kissing him all over his face. "Good morning! It's summer! Get your ass up right now!" I yelled. "Well this is a lovey way to wake up. What do you have planned?" He asked. "It's a secret." "Just 5 more minutes." He begged. "Ok." I must have fallen asleep because I woke up to Derek tickling me. I was giggling. "Ok.. Ppplleasseee... stoooooppppppp.... I'm... gggoing to-to pee myself." I said laughing so hard. He finally stopped then it turned into a pillow fight. "Ok we need to get gong. It's already 7:30 and we are wasting time. I'm going downstairs to get coffee and those really good cookies y'all keep around here. Get dressed. I'll be back in 15 minutes. I love you." I said getting up. "Ok bubs. Love you too." He replied kissing me. I walked downstairs to be greeted by Christopher, Dereks father. "Hey Chris. Did you see the game last night? Haha looks like someone owes me $20." I said. Christopher and I are close. He has become my father figure this past year. He was drinking his coffee and reading the news paper. "I guess I do Meri. I will not be making any bets with you in the future on baseball. So what are y'all doing today?" He asked. "Dereks birthday is next week but I'm not going to be in town. My mom has a conference in New York. We are going to hangout before I leave tomorrow. I will not be back until Tuesday morning. The day after his birthday. But when I get back he will have his licenses so he can take me places. It sucks that he is 2 months older then me. When I get back can you take me for a driving lesson? Please old man?" I said while getting me coffee and a cookie. "Yea I guess I'll give you a lesson." Just then Derek came downstairs wearing a pair of black shorts and a dark blue shirt. "Ok now will you tell me where we are going?" He begged with puppy eyes. "No babe. It's a surprise but I'm sure you will like it." I replied with my mouth full of cookie. He laughed at me then rapped his arms around my waist from behind. "Go grab your bathing suit. Then we have to stop by my house to grab a few things. One being shoes." I said looking at my bare feet. "Ok." He went upstairs and grabbed his bathing suit. He came back down and we left after saying goodbye to Chris. We got to my house. He waited downstairs while I went upstairs to grab my stuff. I got my flip flops, beach bag, sun screen, sunglasses, towels, my wallet, and Dereks present. I put everything in the bag and headed downstairs. "You ready?" He asked. "Yep." We left my house and called a cab to take up down to the pier. We got dropped off at the bored walk. "We are going to ride these rides and play in the water. Then ride a ferry boat." I said getting out of the cab while holding Dereks hand.

We spent the rest of the day riding rides and wrestling in the water. "Let's ride the fairest wheel!" I said with a mouth full of cotton candy. My mouth was probably blue but I don't care. We have been out here since 8:30 am and it is only 1:00 pm. "Meredith we have rode every ride like 3 times. Let's go get lunch then play in the water. Then we can ride the fairest wheel again." He said laughing at me. "Ok." I said. "We got burgers from a food truck and ate at a picnic table under some tree. After we finished we played some games then played in the water some more. It was already 5:00 pm. Where had the time go? "How about we end this day with a fairest wheel ride?" He asked while we were walking out of the ocean. "That sounds perfect!" I said while drying off and putting my clothes over my bathing suit. Derek was putting his shirt on as well. We rode the fairest wheel snuggling close. "Oh I have your birthday present since I will not be here for it. I know it sucks." I said while I pulled a small box out of my pocket. "Thanks bubs." He said opening the box. "Do you like it?" I asked. "Like it? I love it! Thanks babe!" He said while putting on the necklace. I got him a necklace that was shaped like ferry boat and was in craved with M+D forever and Always. "This is the perfect start to summer." He said. "Yeah perfect." I said.

Ok but aren't Merder the cutest?! I enjoyed writing this part. No hate please. It's not my favorite chapter but it's definitely not the worst. I hope y'all liked it!
