As Alan looked out the Vertibird's opened side door, he watched his forces race towards the tank factory and knew that the battle to come would be a bloody one. Half of his ground forces were recently trained tribals. He looked up at the three Vertibirds that flanked his Vertibird's right side and smiled. They did have complete control over the skies and he knew from experience that their power armor can survive a fall of 40 feet. He frowned slightly as he remembered that he wouldn't be landing until the roof has been cleared of ghouls.

Alan watched has two Vertibirds landed and dropped off six soldiers each onto the roof. He took out Salvation and fired off a few rounds, taking down three ghouls. He cursed under his breath as a ghoul tackled a female soldier off the roof and jumped out of his Vertibird. He zoomed down and pulled the ghoul off her before throwing it into the wall next to them. He held onto her tightly and swerved to the left, smashing through a window and rolling on the office floor. He stood up and checked her over, finding no cuts or wounds. He helped her up and pulled out Damnation and Oblivion before kicking the door off its hinges. He watched has the door slammed into two ghouls, killing both on impacted. He turned to the female soldier and said, “Ladies first.” He heard her giggle a little bit and followed after her as she walked out of the door. They made their way to the center of the factory floor before they were surrounded by ghouls. They went back to back and readied themselves for a tough fight. Without looking behind him, he asked, “So what's your name soldier?” She smiled slightly and said. “It's Emily, sir.” Alan nodded and said, “That's a pretty name. It's a honor to fight by your side Emily.” Emily nodded her head and took out her .44 revolver and a standard issue combat knife, which she held in reverse.

They watched as a few ghouls charged and expertly took them down with a few shots from their revolvers. More ghouls charged and met a similar fate until they ran out of bullets. They moved around each other like they could read each others mind. They never once left the center of the factory's floor and by the time the other forces arrived, the was a circle of 50 dead ghouls around them. Alan walked towards a sergeant and said, “Status report.” The sergeant nodded and said, “We suffered three losses and five wounded. All ghouls in the factory have been killed and rounded up outside to be burned.” Alan nodded and turned back to Emily just as she removed her helmet, revealing her gorgeous blond hair. No one would have notice his blushing face due to his helmet as he looked at her. He shook his head and said, “Emily, you've just be recruited to my elite squad.” Emily blushed slightly and nodded her head in response. Alan looked around and said, “Sergeant, you're in command of this place until you're needed in an assault or if you're needed else where.” The sergeant nodded and left to set up defensive positions around the factory. Alan and Emily walked outside and to a waiting Vertibird that took them back to Fort Everway.

Alan sat in his office and was looking over some reports on slaver activity. Sora lay at his feet   and snoring slightly as he slept. It has been three days after the attack on the tank factory and 11 tanks have been made since then. They were also working on designs for a new weapon to add to their army. It was known as a Guardian and was an advance mech. Alan looked up as a messenger open his door and handed him a new report. The report said that the city of New Indianapolis had contacted a patrol and said they were offering them a deal. Alan nodded and told the messenger to bring him his squad. The messenger nodded and left before quickly returning with his squad. After the messenger left, Alan said, “We'll be heading out to the city of New Indianapolis to see what this deal they have for us is about.” They nodded and left to get ready. Alan got up and left his office with Sora hot on his heels. He met up with his team on a Vertibird and they took off towards New Indianapolis.

The two hour trip was awkward for Alan. He had the feeling that Emily was looking at him through the lens of her new power armor helmet. He let out a sigh of relief once they landed in the square of New Indianapolis and met the leader of the city. They were lead into his office and were told that they would join as long as New Indianapolis was made the capital city of Alan's empire. Alan nodded and said, “New Indianapolis will be the capital city until all of the old states are reunited back into the old United States of America.” The mayor agreed and Alan sent word back to the base to send over some troops to help in defense and to help train guards and future soldiers. After that, the mayor let them go and said they could stay and enjoy themselves if they wish. Alan nodded and lead his team outside before saying they could do what they want until they were leave in a few hours.

Alan walked through a empty park that had survived the bombs and took off his helmet. He closed his eyes and took calming breaths. Soon a shadow covered his face and he opened his eyes. He looked up into Emily's blue eyes and before he could reacted, Emily slammed her lips on his. After awhile she stepped back with a massive blush on her face and Alan knew that there was one on his face too, if the burning feeling in his cheeks were anything to go by. They stayed there for a what felt like hours before Alan grabbed the breastplate of Emily's power armor and pulled her down into a passionate kiss. Emily got over her shock and quickly kissed back while climbing onto Alan's lap. They would stay like that until it was time to return back to the base.
