Alan stared at Alexander and Gabriel, waiting for their reply. Alexander nodded and said, "The Black Hands would be honored to join the Crimson Legion." Alan nodded his thanks and turned to look at Gabriel. After a few moments Gabriel finally agreed to join and all those that were around erupted into cheers. Alan smiled and said, "I would like to formally welcome the Black Hands and the Red Horns into the Crimson Legion." With that said, they turned and went to their chosen fronts to defend.

Alan stared at the approaching army from the metal battlements the Black Hands had set up around their city. The army had to be at least in the thousands. Far too many to have come from Michigan alone. Alan looked over at one of his snipers and gave an unspoken command to open fire. Alan looked back and watched as only a few super mutants fell. He raised Salvation as the enemy started to charge.

The tanks opened fire as soon as the first super mutant came within reach of their cannons. Their high explosive rounds blowing most super mutants to ribbons. Soon the rest of the infantry opened fire along with the charging army. Alan looked through the super mutants, trying to spot their leader. He came across one of the lower rank commanders and with a three round burst to the right eye, he fell like a brick. He picked his next target and opened fire.

Soon the enemy army would reach their battlements and threaten to over run them. Alan looked at the towering behemoth and watched as its head was blown to pieces from a high explosive round. He reloaded as blood and gore rained from the sky before unloading into as many super mutants that his clip would allow. He growled as he noticed how far the enemy was, which was only another twenty yards away. He could sense the fear swelling up among the ranks of the defenders and prayed for some air support. As if someone heard him, three A10s came streaking in and leveled one fourth of the approaching army.

Cheers erupted all along the defending super mutants and his men. Alan smiled and yelled, "Now is the time to break the enemy's moral and spirit! Give them hell men!" War cries erupted from his troops and moral was restored to the defenders. Alan put up Salvation and drew Damnation along with Oblivion before waiting for the super mutants to cross the last few yards. He noticed one super mutant among the charging army. He wore armor made from the bones of his foes with flesh and wire holding it together. The enemy commander finally has appeared on the battleground.

Alan gave a mighty roar as he leaped over the battlement and met the charging army head on. He weaved through the super mutants, slashing and shooting any who was stupid enough to face him. He made a bee-line towards the enemy's commander. He beheaded a wounded super mutant as he used its body to leap towards the enemy commander. He landed just in time to defend a wounded Red horn. He pushed the bumper-sword away and kicked the commander away with a mighty kick.

Alan looked at the commander and asked, "May I get the name of my foe?" The super mutant laughed and said, "I am Kaine. May I get your name puny human?" Alan holstered Damnation and said, "I am Alan Smith. However, you may call me your killer." Kaine just laughed and swung as hard as he could. Alan lifted Oblivion to block and was sent skidding back from the force of the swing. Alan growled and went on the offensive. It was clear that Alan had more skill while Kaine had more power. Skill, however, beats power as clearly shown by the number of cuts and gashes all over Kaine's body.

They traded blows for the next ten minutes. After a while, Alan managed to land a savage kick on Kaine's stomach, sending him to the ground. Alan went in for the killing blow, but was sent flying as Kaine's second-in-command showed up. Alan growled as he stood up and glared at the new arrival. He wore similar armor as Kaine, but without the flesh. In his hands was a super sledge. Alan took off with surprising speed and the super mutant barely had enough time to block the savage swing. Alan quickly flung the hammer out of the super mutant's hands before beheading him. When he looked back at Kaine, he saw him and his army in full retreat. He growled in annoyance before turning to the cheering defenders. Mt Pleasant was finally in the hands of the Crimson Legion and along with it, Michigan.
