She was merely asking a rhetorical question.
"A wild horse will always be a wild animal, unless the horse will undergo a domestication. Humans can influence and encourage domestication. But it's really about the time and evolution." Selene patiently explained while smiling.
"Of course time is essential in domestication, the wild horse will eventually be subservient and reliant to humans for shelter and food. Now imagine if the same horse was returned to the wild, it will surely suffer, die or continuously seek a human contact to survive. The drive to fend for themselves is no longer a domineering trait." Jun understand everything that she said and as expected their sister made her point very clear. But for their slightly slow witted younger brother, Selene continued.
"We have made Valentine to be a tamed stallion, but not a docile one who will die without us, he can revert to his wild instincts and rebel against us. Which will certainly be a problem, it's a waste to kill it after grooming it for so many years, only because it turned out to be an unruly animal." Elias finally understood the entire example, his eyes brightened up as he widened his eyes at her sister.
"So sister, what you're saying is we need to more than just to tame Valentine, we also need to train him to the point the he cannot live without us?"
"Exactly Elias, he can only be alive if he's truly loyal to us. It's such a shame to kill him after all the efforts that I've put into him after all these years. He needs to realize how truly worthless he is without me." The newer maids paled as they heard their beautiful young mistress's harsh words. They can't deny the fact that she resembled the Marquis Jun in terms of her ruthlessness regardless of her beauty. The older servants however, remained calm as if they didn't heard the dehumanizing words from her mouth. For as long as they serve here, they had gotten used to the harsh treatments in the Arslan heir, named Valentine. He was entrusted to the Marquis Fasci after the Duke and Duchess of Arslan passed away.
Selena's eyes glimmer in satisfaction as she savor the fragrant tea.
"Then Sister," Elias broke the comfortable silence. "What are the chances of him turning against us?" Jun has also thought of this possibility before he entrusted Valentine to Selene but gradually forgot about it as he took over as the new deputy general in the empire.
"That's unlikely to happen." Selene cannot think of any way that he will turn back against her, there's no way he can regain his normal state of mind after 4 years of inhaling psychoactive plants. His brain has been thoroughly altered. "But possible...." Selene trailed off. Remembering a passage in a book.
Nothing is true and everything is possible.
"Then how?" Jun, at this moment furrowed his blonde colored eyebrows. Just the thought of him slipping away from her sister's fingers brought him great annoyance. He wouldn't have spared his life if there's a chance that he will fight them in the future.
"I don't know," Selene didn't lose her calm and stared directly in her brother's direction. "I just said it's possible, it doesn't mean that I know how exactly." She can feel her brother's irritation at her lukewarm response but that is the truth.
Nobody knew what might happen in the future. She once thought that their Fasci prestige will stood high and unwavering as long as their father, Marquis Cena is alive. Which means, for a long time. Since his father is the most cunning man he knew. But look at them now.
Their father was dead.
The Fasci's prestige didn't end up in mud when their father died, instead it soared even higher.
The beliefs that she held in her heart with pure conviction turned out to be false. That is why she was enlightened after their mother and father were slaughtered as well as her beloved siblings.
The possibilities are endless.
"Hmm very well," Jun didn't pry deeper. Knowing well that her sister was just, again, thinking of the contingency of such matter. "If you say he is ready, then he is. I trust your judgement Selene."
"As you should Eldest brother." Selene's voice unconsciously grew softer. The two remaining members of her family are the most important for her. She trusted them whole heartedly. And just knowing that they trust her too, made her endure the horrors of this world.

A young woman was barefooted in the middle of a field. Everything was peaceful and bright, the woman with a blonde golden hair and blue eyes smiled and twirled just as a gust of wind blew towards her direction. Her fluttering white dress gently shook.
Just as she opened her eyes again the field disappeared and she was now placed in a dark room without anything. She glance around but saw no one. Suddenly she heard a dripping sound.
Drip
It started as a slight sound but now she can already hear it gushing down. It made her uncomfortable, she hugged herself out of fear but felt that her dress was wet.
She then looked down and saw that her white dress was now tained with red color. It slowly dominated the clean white dress, painting it with a bright red color. She sucked in a deep breath when she smelled the familar nauseating stink.
Blood.....the red on her dress is blood.
She wanted to remove the bloody dress but it seemed to clung to her skin even more. The wetness grew, the blood was now enveloping her whole body. Just as she wanted to scream she heard her mother's voice. She was in front of her, lying in a pool of blood. Extending her bruised hand towards her direction.
"Help me please."
"Help me Selene."
The look on her mother's eyes made her skin crawl. The horrified expression pierced through her own stunned eyes. The blood dripping out of her thighs continued to spread out on the floor.
Creating a pool of nauseating smell. It's flowing down towards her direction. It made her want to run away......so she did. She turned away and cried.
But the more she tried to run, the more everything turned bloody.
Soon she's submerged in blood, she tried to escape. But it's hugging her, encaging her, suffocating her. The thick blood is entering her lungs.
She felt it flo-
"-ady Selene!"
"Lady Selene! Please wake up!" A low voice with a tinge of panic woke Selene up from her dream.
