The stunning man stared blankly at his appearance on the mirror.

Especially towards the locks of hair on top of his head. His piercing pair of hazel and blue eyes gazed unyieldingly at the wet straight hair.

He hesitantly caressed his white hairs gently, combing it with his left hand, trying to tame the wild hairs escaping down to his forehead. Treating it with undeniable care, contrary to his serious and cold look.

The man, named Valentine let down his hand when the unruly strands finally appeared neat. Staring at the mirror with a satisfied expression. The corner of his supple lips curling up, seemingly giving the appearance of a young God of mischief.

His Lady Selene's gaze would always fall first on his hair.

Valentine was sure that his Lady Selene liked his hair.

That's why he takes extra measures to keep it clean-looking. If she likes my hair more, maybe she'll pay attention to me often.

Valentine wrapped a towel on his naked torso, then walked out of his bathroom. His tall toned body, still dripping with water, emphasized his striking figure.

He, soon covered his body with his usual nightwear and sat down on the enormous bed that was placed on the side of the room. Then extended his hand on the bedside cabinet to get an ordinary looking wood. He also fiddled in the innermost part underneath his bed to find the small rusty knife he found some time ago.

In the dimly lit room, Valentine flashed a tranquil smile as he started carving in a proficient motion. From the way that his slender fingers moved swiftly, it was obvious that the man had a lot of practice.

Valentine knew he wouldn't get any proper sleep so he decided to do the thing that he always do.

Carving

The foreign academy where he studied before teaches the art of sculpting. But he didn't like it, he only tried it for some experience and to pass time.

He hadn't expected that some years later, he will treat it as something to appease the feeling of longing towards a certain person. He didn't know how long had he been staying here but his Lady Selene said that he'll be turning 18 this year.

Which means that he's been here for four years now.

He didn't know when exactly did he start liking wood carving, but he feels like something's itching to get out inside him and he couldn't get it out. He couldn't act or dare to let it out.

It feels as if he's constricted, chained.

All the desires in him made him feel guilty. The feelings for his Lady Selene has been steadily gnawing at his heart. But he respected her too much that even thinking about her romantically made him feel ashamed of himself.

He's truly disgusting and worthless.

Lady Selene is kind enough to give me purpose in this lifetime.

She's perfect.

That's why Valentine won't and can't express his feelings towards her. It's abominable and beyond sinful.

And the carving helps. He can caress the image of her. He can hold her. Even if it's just a piece of wood, it's her. It's the only outlet that Valentine can express the amorous feelings towards his special person.

Valentine blew toward the wood in his hand, making the small cutted pieces to flicker away. The appearance of a woman started showing on the wood as the long hair was carved meticulously. Valentine was elated that he found a larger piece of wood today. He can create a somewhat larger version of her.

Maybe down to her hips

Just as he started to carved down the area around her waist, Valetine's hand shook. His face didn't change for a while and no one can guess that he's flustered if it wasn't for the rapid up and down motion of his chest due to his uneven breathing.

I'm sorry Lady Selene.... Sorry for thinking about that. And sorry for secretly creating this. Over and over again. Without your permission.

In the end, Valentine put the rusty knife down. Sighing deeply, his thumb stroking the face of the wood resembling his Lady Selene's unruffled face.

He laid a gentle kiss on the wooden head, even closing his eyes tenderly as if he's truly holding a precious lover.

Valentine then crushed the wooden figure with his bare hand. Walking towards his bathroom to dispose of the remains. He lost count of all the wood carvings that he did after the 50th. All the same lips, same nose, same face. All destroyed by his own hands. Because he doesn't have a choice.

No matter how much he wanted to cherish those carvings. To take care of it everyday. He can't.

If they see anything inside my room, Lady Selene will be mad.

With that thought in his mind, Valetine washed his hands with a dull expression. Hoping that she'll finally return here tomorrow.

Where Valentine can see her

But he knew that what he's hoping isn't going to come true. It hasn't been a month since she've left.

~

Dear Eldest Brother,

It appears that I've underestimated the things that needs to be taken care of. By the time that you recieve this letter, a month had probably passed since I left. I don't know when I'll be able to come back but know that I will as soon as I settle the agreements between the nobles. I am currently staying at the royal palace since the Crown Princess invited me, so please do not worry.

And also, I asked of you to extend your help if things got out of hand with Valentine. Though I doubt that will happen since he's already good and obedient.

"Still, you are allowed to discipline him if the situation calls. Sincerely yours, Selene."

Jun read the letter out loud, ending it in a low voice. Putting the letter down on the table in a lax manner. While gazing at the rigid Valentine in front of him.

Jun's blue eyes covered by a golden rimmed glasses narrowed when he saw Valentine's pair of hazel and blue eyes staring fixatedly at the piece of paper where the contents of his sister Selene's letter laid.

"Selene believes that you truly are good and obedient Valentine."
