5 pm.

"Ashley! Are you ready? Layla and I are already done!" Laura was knocking on the washroom door. I looked at the door then to my reflection in the mirror. It was 5 in the evening and was my high school senior prom night. I had a last minute nerve breakdown when I was getting ready as I remembered that I would be going to prom with my crush. Come on! Crush! Like how could that be possible!

But it happened and I was prepared to tell him how I really feel. Another knocked on the door but this time I knew it was Layla. "You dumbshit, open the damn door and get your make up done. We don't have much time before the boys arrive."

Layla is the twin sister of Laura but they were the complete opposite. As you can see, Layla is the meanie type. Calling me dumbshit had been a nickname since we were in freshman year. Not that I mind it because we had been really close since childhood days. Her twin, Laura, is more to the sweet and soft side. You can say, they were the angel and devil on my shoulder.

However opposite they were, the three of us get along really well and I was glad for that. So when Layla knocked once again on the door, I quickly rush over and opened it. Both of them had their arms crossed as they looked at me with concern and anxiousness.

"What?" I asked, wondering why they were anxious.

"You had been in there for a solid 10 minutes. Are you alright?" Laura asked. She unfold her arms to grab my hands.

I shook my head, guilty of making them worried. "I guess I'm fine now."

"Come on, tiny. You know that he likes you too. So just tell him how you feel and get it done and over with. If he rejects you, just kick his balls!"

"Layla, you give the worst suggestions possible," Laura looked at her twin and rolled her eyes.

How could the both of them be the complete opposite of each other?

I giggled, actually feeling my nervousness disappear as my friends made me laugh. I squeezed Laura's hands, thankful for the concern and walked into my room where I took my make up bag and quickly reapply my make up.

We heard a car parked outside my house. Our ride is here. Laura squealed in delight as she rushed to take her bag and went down to greet our date since one of them was her boyfriend. Layla stood at the door, accompanying me. I looked at her briefly, noting the unimpressed look on her face.

"Something bothering you?" I was patting my foundation in place with a beauty blender.

"I guess. Sometimes I don't know how Laura and me are twins. I mean look at us!" Layla pointed to herself.

Layla's preference was a short brown hair with a side fringe. Her dressing was coded as bold and striking to comment on her curvy and fit body. She was into sports hence she was tanner than Laura. Black was her go to colour most of the time like the dress she was wearing currently. It was a long two piece dress which showed off her midriff.

Laura's the complete opposite. She had long wavy and flowing hair, which was blonde and highlighted brown. She has the more bubbly personality, like the dress she wore which was pink.

I smiled, thinking about them but I didn't say anything as I gave Layla the side look. My eyeliner and eyeshadow was complete so all I had to put on was the lipstick. There was another honk and Layla sighed. "I shall be going first. You're always the last one as usual, Ashley."

I shrugged as I watch Layla's retreating body. I quickly finished up my look at with a spray and prayed that everything will go well.

But boy was I wrong.
