The Bruce x Natasha romance NEVER happened :)
"I want to propose to Pepper," Tony said as he and Natasha strolled through the park.
"About damn time" Nat deadpanned. "Rhodey and I have been waiting and talking about it for years at this point."
"Wait a minute" Tony paused. "How long?"
"Probably since 2011" Natasha answered.
"What?" Tony exclaimed. "SEVEN years now?"
"Mhm," Natasha nodded.
"Never knew my Platypus and former PA would care about my love life so much" Tony sarcastically remarked.
"Fury's idea, not mine," Natasha defended herself.
"Was evident, after finding out about the 'Iron Man? Yes. Tony Stark? Not recommended' comment" Tony teased.
"You know, I didn't say that because I didn't think you would be an asset" Natasha began. "I could tell you were head over heels for Pepper because let's be real, you're not too discreet. I know firsthand how the job can just take real life and relationships away and since you didn't grow up with this insanity for a life, I knew you would burn out. I was trying to protect you from it and you're stubborn ass joined in anyway."
"Nat, I-" Tony stuttered.
"Natasha Romanoff, Tony Stark, I'm Doctor Stephen Strange," a man with a goatee stepped out of a glowing, orange portal. "You two need to come with me."
"Listen, pal, gotta love the dramatic entrance, but we'll pass" Tony disregarded Strange.
" Look, it's not overselling to say that the fate of the universe is at stake" Strange continued.
"Haven't heard that one before" Natasha sarcastically remarked.
"And yet, this time, it's legit" Bruce Banner came up from behind Strange. "We really need you guys."
"Bruce?" Tony and Nat blinked in shock.
"Yeah, I'm back" Bruce went up to his friends and gave them each a desperate hug. "Please, come with us. Thanos is coming."
Tony then turned to Nat, who just shrugged. "Where are we going?"
"The Sanctum Sanctorum" Dr. Strange answered.
"There's no way that's the actual name" Tony smirked.
"Shut up, Tony" Natasha rolled her eyes. "Lead the way."
Stephen then turned and walked approximately two feet to go back through the portal he walked out of.
"Well, that was relatively easy," Natasha muttered.
"Get talking, Houdini" Tony followed everyone through the portal, where he came face-to-face with a new person. "Tony Stark. And you are?"
"Wong, one of the Masters of Mystic Arts and sorcerer" the man introduced himself.
"Impressive resume" Tony nodded as a praise. "Gotta ask though-"
"Excuse me, Mr. Stark but we have a universe-ending threat on our hands and I respectfully ask that you do not make small talk right now" Strange's patience was thinning.
"Geez louise, just trying to make friends" Tony scoffed. "Can't a man-"
"Tony, please, listen," Bruce begged.
"Yeah, yeah, get on with it."
"From the dawn of the universe, there was nothing. Then, boom! The Big Bang sent six elemental crystals, hurtling across the virgin universe. These Infinity Stones each control an essential aspect of existence" Wong used his magic to provide a visual.
"Tell me his name again."
A/N: I am so sorry for not posting in so long! I got really busy with school because of the last few weeks of the quarter in school, leaving for Spring Break, and having a crazy first week back. I know that this chapter is really short and rather half-a$sed, but I promise things will start getting more consistent and better soon
Also, I am going to quickly explain my posting/chapter schedule. I have decided to move onto what is canonically Infinity War and give my own twist to it and continue from there. However, I have decided that if I come up with a chapter not related to this timeline at all, I will write it and post it anyway. Of course, I will clearly state whether or not it is part of the "Infinity War and Beyond" timeline to prevent confusion if possible. Anyway, hope to get back to more consistent posting soon!
