I am not entirely sure if this is a TW, but the Red Room will be heavily referenced, and obviously, it is a very traumatizing place. So yeah, sorry I'm so bad at these :/

Also, this takes place around the same time as the "Uncle Rhodey" chapter.

"Not that I don't want to see you, but why are you here?" Yelena opened her front door in shock.

"What a warm welcome" Natasha rolled her eyes and let herself in. "Plus, your fault for not answering your Starkphone."

"Fair enough" Yelena closed her door and turned to Nat. "Still didn't answer the question, though."

"I think I have a way to track down our parents" Natasha let the cat out of the bag.

"What?" Yelena raised a brow. "Natasha, we've tried this before. What makes this any different?"

"Remember those files from the Red Room you hacked into?" Natasha pulled her laptop out of her bag.

"Was that made by Stark? I should really get him to hook me up with one of those" Yelena commented.

"I thought he did" Natasha continued browsing on her computer. "After you smashed it with a hammer when he and Peter were here."

"It was with a brick, actually" Yelena corrected.

"Why the f#ck do you just have bricks lying around?"

"I don't remember, to be honest."

"Geez louise" Natasha muttered. "So, the files."

"Oh, yeah, what about them?"

"Very recently, I was able to create a private firewall and server so that I can access them and-"

"You have way too much free time."

"Shut up. Anyway, I've been digging through them since then and there is a ton of information regarding medical files."

Yelena peered over Natasha's shoulder and she scrolled through all of the data she had managed to obtain. There was a long list of their former classmates but Natasha clicked off that and went to Yelena's profile, where they could read through all of the brainwashing and experiments that were conducted but were written in code. However, basic information such as blood type and DNA were also collected.

"I missed the part where this is actually useful" Yelena deadpanned.

"If we know what they did to us, we can likely reverse it" Natasha sighed. "Listen, I know this is frankly kind of stupid and elaborate but I want to know and I know that you do too."

Yelena and Natasha sat in silence for a few moments, trying to decide what they should do.

"Well, fine, I'm in" Yelena broke the silence. "Problem is, I don't think either of us are smart enough to figure this out on our own."

"Wow, thanks" Natasha half-heartedly glared.

"Well, think about it," Yelena continued. "Even if we know our DNA, it's not like we can hack the Russian healthcare companies."

"I mean, we could."

"That is true."

"But we shouldn't."

"Yes, I'm pretty sure that's right" Yelena nodded. "Anyway, and I don't know about you, but I'd rather not try to reverse the brainwashing and sh#t because neither of us are scientists."

"We do know a scientist," Natasha pointed out. "A literal genius, in fact."

"Good point" Yelena grabbed her phone from her pocket and dialed a number before putting it on speaker.
