"Ugh," Peter groaned as his alarm went off. He looked at the clock. 6:30 a.m. He sighed as he got out of bed to get ready for school. He brushed his teeth and hair, put on a science t-shirt and some pants, grabbed his backpack, and walked into the kitchen.

"Thanks," he said to May as she handed him a plate with peanut butter toast. He quickly ate it so he wasn't late for school.

"Alright, well, see you after school," May said as she took the now empty plate from Peter. "Larb you!"

"Larb you too!" Peter called out as he ran out the door.

Peter preferred to walk to his school, Midtown High School. Usually, he would be running late, but today, he was actually on time.

"Hey Penis Parker!" Flash Thompson shouted as he saw Peter walking in the halls. "Where have you been? New foster parents?" I DO NOT CONDONE THIS BEHAVIOR NEITHER SHOULD YOU :)

Peter ignored Flash and walked to his first period class, homeroom.

"Hey Ned," he said, sitting down by his best friend and started their handshake.

"Hey Peter, where have you been?" Ned asked. He knew about Peter being SpiderMan and was his 'Guy in the Chair'.

"Germany," Peter replied while grabbing stuff out of his bag. "I stole Captain America's shield at the Leipzig airport," he whispered.

"No way! I heard about that!" Ned said in awe.

"What's up, losers?" Michelle Jones, also known as MJ asked.

"Hi, MJ," Peter said.

"So, where have you been?" MJ asked.

"Germany, Stark Internship," Peter lied. Well, it was only partly a lie.

~Meanwhile~

Both Tony and Nat were up and awake after the sleeping mostly peacefully for the rest of the night. Tony had poured him and Nat a cup of coffee before heading to his lab. However, Nat didn't know what to do with all the free time. Normally, she'd be training with Wanda, Sam, Steve, and Clint if he was visiting from the farm. She missed them a ton and was trying to find ways to distract herself. She started off by training by herself, which was honestly pretty lonely after only an hour. She then tried to read some Russian novels, but got bored after only a couple of chapters. Finally, she decided to head down to the lab.

"Hey Shellhead," Nat said as she entered the lab. "What are you building?"

"New suits," he said as he started programming. "What have you been doing?"

"Nothing, I'm honestly really bored," she admitted. "Want any food?"

"Nah, I'm okay," he responded as he took a sip of coffee. "Thanks anyway, Nat".

"Of course," she said as she turned to leave. "Good luck on the suit".

"Thanks, Miss Rushman".

She rolled her eyes at the stupid nickname, not understanding why Tony got such a kick out of it. She went into the kitchen, where an unexpected visitor was sitting.

"Rhodey!" she called out as she walked over to give him a hug. "How are you holding up?"

"Eh, I'm mostly okay," Rhodey replied as he returned the hug. "And how are you after the fiasco?"

"Could be better," Nat frowned slightly.

"Everything's going to be okay, Nat," he assured her, knowing she was the most upset by the situation. "Where's Tony?"

"In his lab per usual," she slightly grinned. "Friday, tell Tony to get his ass in the kitchen".

A few minutes later, Tony barged in, slightly annoyed that he was bothered. That all changed once he saw who was there.

"Platypus," he said as he gave Rhodey a hug. "How are you doing, man?"

"Not too bad. Need to get some files from your one office though".

"Alright, I'll be back-"

"No, I want to go get them," Rhodey insisted.

Tony looked at Nat who just shrugged. Slowly and carefully, Rhodey was walking to the office with Tony and Natasha on either side of him. Eventually they made it, right as a FedEx delivery man arrived.

"Are you Tony Stank?" the older gentleman asked.

"Yes, this is-this is Tony "Stank". You're in the right place. Thank you for that! I'm never dropping that, by the way. Table for one, Mr. "Stank". Please, by the bathroom," Rhodey snickered as he and Natasha walked out with the files he needed.

Tony opens the package to reveal a letter and a flip phone. Once he saw who it was from, he took a deep breath.

Tony, I'm glad you're back at the compound. I don't like the idea of you rattling around a mansion by yourself. We all need family. The Avengers are yours, maybe more so than mine. I've been on my own since I was 18. I never really fit in anywhere, even in the army. My faith's in people, I guess. Individuals. And I'm happy to say that, for the most part, they haven't let me down. Which is why I can't let them down either. Locks can be replaced, but maybe they shouldn't. I know I hurt you, Tony. I guess I thought by not telling you about your parents I was sparing you, but I can see now that I was really sparing myself, and I'm sorry. Hopefully one day you can understand. I wish we agreed on the Accords, I really do. I know you're doing what you believe in, and that's all any of us can do. That's all any of us should . So, not matter what. I promise you, if you need us, if you need me, I'll be there.

"Priority call from Secretary Ross. There's been a breach at the RAFT prison," Friday announced.

"Yeah, put him through," he sighed.

"Tony, we have a problem," Ross stated.

"Ah, please hold," he said.

"No. Don't -" Ross began before getting cut off. He knew damn well it was Steve Rogers getting them out. He didn't care to stop them. He opened up the flip phone to reveal one number and one contact. Steve Rogers. Tony sighed and put the phone on the desk and got up to find his friends.

"Hey, what was in the package?" Rhodey asked as Tony joined him and Nat in the living room.

"A letter from Rogers," he awkwardly replied. "Oh, and Ross called. Rogers broke his team out of the RAFT".

"Well, are we going to do anything about it?" Nat wondered.

"Uh, no, I think it's fine," Tony scratched his head. Rhodey and Nat could tell he really didn't want to try and stop them. They didn't either.

"Yeah, same," Rhodey said to fill the awkward silence. "I have a bit of work to finish up, so I'll see you guys later".

"Alright, I'm gonna go back to the lab," Tony added.

Nat nodded as the two men walked off to finish their work. For once, she wasn't busy and was still bored out of her mind finding something to do. Suddenly, she thought of something that could be exciting and reached for her phone.

Hey, Peter. Wanna come train with me after school?
