We arrive at Bâoli Miami, a small tiki looking restaurant. I know my mom did not pick this out. It's too far from her likings. We walk inside and I'm in amazement, the sum what tiki looking place has been transformed into a quiet restaurant with small white candles around the room.

A waitress greets us and she looks oddly familiar. "Hi I'm Cassie, do you have reservation?" she asks us.

I start to laugh knowing she may not recognize me. I'm in a small purple dress with a bow on the left side. My hair is pulled up and I have a lot of makeup on to make myself presentable.

"Hey Cassie, I didn't know you worked here." I say to her.

She smiles and whispers "I would hug you and talk for a long time if my boss wasn't breathing down my neck. It's my third week and it's like he's waiting for me to mess up and fire me already." She rolls her head back and laughs.

I look to my mom who is impatiently standing next to us. "Sorry, this is my mom. Martha."

She smiles at her and replies "It's nice to meet you."

My mom cuts her off before she can say anymore and I mouth sorry to her. "Yes, you too. We'll be sitting with Mr. Nallott and his son." I can tell she's taken aback by her attitude. She turns on her heels and marches with us following.

Jacob is an older looking man but I don't pay much attention to him. My breath is taken back by his son. He's in a green dress shirt and his smile shows his small dimples. His hair and eyes are brown. He barely looks at me but I can't seem to take my eyes off of him.

My mom kisses Jacob on the cheek and he returns the favor. He reaches his hand out for mine and I shake it easily.

"I'm glad to meet the lucky man for my mother I say to him." He laughs.

He lets go of my hand. "This is my son Hunter. I believe he will attending your school next year!" he says a little too excitedly. Hunter reddens in the cheeks.

"Hey." He mumbles, once again not looking at me.

"I take it you don't want to be here the same as I don't." I try to ease the tension but he doesn't even acknowledge me. I begin to wonder if there is something wrong with him or even me. No one is that shy.

We enjoy dinner and Jacob suggests that Hunter and I go for a walk, I know he wants to have alone time with my mom. But I don't want alone time with someone who doesn't bother to look at me. We get up from the table and start walking.

I've never been in this town before. It's very romantic and welcoming. There are lamps hung along some of the houses and others have flower decorations. I admire them while we walk in silence.

The temperature has dropped a few but not enough to be cold yet. After ten minutes into the traitorous walk I finally break the silence.

"How come you don't talk much?" I know that was really rude of me to ask but I just had to know.

He smiles slightly and replies "I have nothing to say." I am slightly offended and I don't know why. If we ever up being step siblings things are going to have to change about him.

As we continue the walk he stops in front of a giant house that looks like a small castle. "I'm going to grab a jacket." He mumbles.

From the small sentences he has said I've noticed I really have to strain to listen to him. When he comes back he has one jacket on and one over his arm. He hands it to me and I smile at his sweet gesture. I put it on and I'm am transported into a world of his smell. Every part of him infatuates me and I find myself wanting to know more about this mysterious guy beside me.

We pass a bar and a loud clatter of broken glass sounds. Screaming is followed and I run inside leaving Hunter behind me.

It's Austin and he's too drunk for his own good. Before I can prosper what it is I'm doing I have my hands on his face trying to calm him down.
