"I just got the job and you want to talk about this?" I scold him.
Austin is a year older then I am which means he's going to college. He got into University of Texas, and I'm still in grade twelve.
We've been needing to talk about this since he got the confirmation. I've just been too upset that he's leaving to even think about it. I know not talking isn't the best way to deal with things but that's how I've always been. I bottle up my emotions until eventually I'm a disaster.
"Yes darling, I'm sorry but I'm leaving in five weeks." He sighs.
"I know, but I just hate you're leaving me." I half cry half yell at him.
"I'm not leaving you, we will still talk and I will fly home to see you every chance I get." He tries to make it sound better, but it's only making things worse.
I can feel the hot tears streaming down my face. I know that every few weekends will not be enough.
"I can't, we can't. Long distance never works."
He wraps me in his arms until I'm done crying.
"Can you bring me to Tiffany's, please?" He starts the car without saying anything.
I unlock the door to Tiff's and go to her room and text her 'I'm at your place get here now!!!' After about fifteen minutes she gets home, she was out for a jog. I get up off her bed and she hugs me.
"What's wrong?" she asks.
I explain that Austin and I are fighting about him going to college.
She tells me "Sasha, you have to understand that he can't just sit around here and wait for you until next year. It's his life, he deserves to go to college."
I stare at her in shock, she doesn't normally say stuff like that. She will comfort me and agree no matter what.
"How can you say that" I ask her?
She smirks and says "Maybe it's because Austin needs someone who can better him not hold him back," my mouth drops open and she continues "someone like me, we all know him and I are perfect for each other."
I'm astounded "You too together, that's the funniest thing I've ever heard. Why don't you do all of us a favor and stop being jealous of my life.
I turn to try to get past her but she stops me and slaps me across the face. "Wake up Sasha, you two are drifting apart."
I have never hated anyone in my life as much as I hate her now. She will never be my friend again.
"NO we're not but you and I are, I hate you! You're a back stabbing no good lying person. Go to hell and don't come back."
I run down her stairs and scream "Screw you!" before slamming the door.
