Chapter 13

I woke up, sat, and rubbed my eyes. I checked my watch. It was 7:38. Rose was still in bed. I filled up the tub so I could clean myself. Luckily that didn't wake up Rose. I pulled the curtain and bathed. I got dressed behind the curtain and when I pulled it back Rose was sitting up. She was wearing a bra on top and her bottom half was covered by blankets.

"Morning" she said.

"Good morning," I said.

"Don't drain the water," she said, "I'll use it."

"Alright," I said, "I'll go get some breakfast."

I took our four pokemon and went to the cafeteria. I ordered pokemon food for them and got some eggs for myself. I got some toast for Rose and took it for her upstairs. She was on the bed watching tv as I walked in. I handed her the toast and she smiled.

"Thanks, Skye"

"You're welcome," I said

The news was on and they were talking about recent pokemon contests. After about an hour it was 9:00 and Rose said "Gym time?"

"You bet," I said. We left the center and headed to the west side of town where the gym was. As we got there we opened the door. Inside was an old man in the ring and a trainer walking down the steps with his head hanging low.

Rose and I walked in nervously. When we walked in everyone gasped. We walked through the crowd and they separated for us. We got to the ring and the old man stared at us.

"Greetings," he said,"I am Wattson. I am here to make you wish you had never passed through Mauville. Go Voltorb and Elektrike!"

I sent out Rocky and Rose sent out Willow. "Use rock slide!" I yelled to Rocky. Rocky's wings turned upward and rocks Rose from the ground and fell on Voltorb. Willow ran up fast and kicked Voltorb hard sending it to the ground.

Elektrike shot thunder at Willow. Rocky very quickly swept Willow of his feet to save him. Wattson sent out Manectric. His last pokemon. "Body slam!" I yelled. Rocky slammed into Manectric. Willow shot leaves at it. Manectric was barely standing.

"Manectric use sonicboom!" Manectric stood and roared sending both Willow and Rocky back. Rocky fell go the ground. "Willow use razor leaf!" Yelled Rose. The battle was over. There was no sound. Then suddenly the whole gym erupted into cheering. We smiled at all of our adoring fans.

"Fantastic!" Said Wattson, "it's been an honor. Here is the Dynamo badge!"

He gave each of us a badge and we got down from the ring. We walked past everyone as they grazed their hands on us. We left the gym and high-fived. "Great job," I said.

"Thanks," said Rose, "You too."

We went back to the center and let the nurse heal our pokemon. That took a while since Rocky got hit pretty hard. By 11:00 we were ready to leave for the next town. We ate lunch, packed, and said goodbye to Mr. Blaze. At noon we took off.
