Chapter 9

I let out Rocky and Skyskater so they could sleep together and they seemed to get along. Aerodactyl was much bigger and he but his wing around Skyskater. Forest was very nice too. He and Willow slept at the foot of Rose's bed. I turned on the tv. The news was talking about us again.

"Today our two prophecy hopefuls have beaten Roxanne and now are staying at the Rustboro center.."

Rose took off her shirt and then her bra. "Rose!"

"We already talked about this. It's July. It's hot outside."

"It's not that but did you not just hear the news? They know where we are. So unless you want your nudes all over I would put at least a bra on."

"Why would they want my nudes?"

"Cuz people are pervs. Just put something on." She put a t-shirt over her naked upper half. We went to bed. I woke up at 7:00 and Rose was gone. She must have been eating. I showered and threw on a blue shirt and jeans. I heard a yell for help out side. I looked out the window. People in blue uniforms were walking down the streets.

"Find the boy!" A man with a blue suit and bandana yelled. I hid so they couldn't see me through window. Another cry for help. I looked. It was Rose. She was in a tank top and shorts. One of the two men holding her was holding Forest and Willow's balls. I noticed I was wearing blue and that I could blend in.

I searched through Rose's pack and found her blue bandana that she had worn once. I pulled it on and ran outside with my pokemon in their balls. I stepped into the mob of the people. I walked like they did but quickly so I could catch up to Rose who was in the middle of the pack. They were marching to the north side of town. I finally got up to Rose and tapped one of the guard's arms.

"Boss says he needs you up friend and I am going to take the girl."

"Sounds good," he said. Rose had her head facing down. She hadn't seen me yet. The man handed me the pokeballs and left.

"Hey," I said to Rose in a gruff voice. "Where's the boy." She kept her head down and said nothing. "Look at me when I'm talking to you!"

She looked up and saw who I was. She played along and kept pretending like I was a bad guard. I gave her the pokeballs. I nodded and Rose kicked the guard holding her arm. We sent out our four pokemon to help us. Our Pokemon ran in a circle around us to back everyone off. A man ran at us. Rocky swooped and hit him hard with his wing. Someone sent out a Sharpedo.

"Forest, use absorb!" Yelled Rose. Forest, despite being only a Treeko, made the Sharpedo fall in defeat. No one else was brave enough to sen out a pokemon. Rose and I were standing and the pokemon were to the north, east, south, and west of us.

The blue men started to retreat and they ran away faster when Nuzleaf started bullet seeding their butts. I looked over and noticed that Rose had a cut above her right eyebrow.

"What happened?"

"They um... They kind of punched me." She hugged me. "Thank you,"

"You're welcome. Anything for family." She let go. I checked my watch. "8:00. Great way to start the day." Rose chuckled and we walked back to the center. People peaked out their doors and saw that we were okay. Some applauded. "How'd they get you?"

"I was in the cafeteria. They came in and I tried to hide everyone. I got them all into the kitchen and I tried to stand my ground and protect the people. I wasn't strong enough. When I started struggling when they grabbed me, they punched."

"I'm so sorry," I said.

"Don't be," said Rose,"you saved me." We got to the center where most of the people were gathered in the lobby. Someone came up and gave Rose a hug. She was an older lady, maybe 60.

"Thank you," said the lady,"without you none of us would still be here."

"You're welcome," said Rose. We got up to the room and sat and rested. I turned on the tv and saw the newscaster.

"This just in, our two young hopefuls have escaped team Aqua. The girl was saved by the boy earlier this morning in Rustboro City. This is all."

"Team Aqua?" Asked Rose

"Sounds easy for your grass types."

"Yeah," Rose looked over at me,"we make a pretty good team don't we?"

"Yeah," I said smiling,"we're unstoppable."

"Do you want to leave for Dewford Town?"

"Yeah, sure." We packed up and left the center. When we left we were stopped by an old man. "Take this," he said. He handed me a disk. "It's an HM," he said,"it will let your pokemon cut down trees." He handed is 5000 dollars and left.

"That was weird." Rose said. We taught the move to Forest and walked all the way back to the woods. We had Forest cut down a small tree and it revealed a very easy shortcut through the woods. We took it and got down to the beach.

"Dewford Island is to the southwest. How do we get there?" Asked Rose.

There was a man sitting on the porch by the cottage. He too had a Wingull. We walked up to him to ask for directions.

"Excuse me sir?" Asked Rose,"but do you know how to get to Dewford Island?" He looked up and smiled.

"Why, yes. I do. Come along, Peeko!"

The man stood up and his Wingull flew after him. He walked around his house and we saw a dock that stretched out on the water. A boat was at the end. "Ready to set sail?" He asked.

Rose and I looked at each other. "Yes sir," I said.

"Well then." He said,"Anchors Aweigh."
