Chapter 24

I didn't sleep well that night. Rocky's death kept playing over and over in my head. I woke up in my Pokemon center room. I turned and saw Skyskater and Blade sound asleep next to each other. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I turned on the tv where they were talking about how Aqua's base was destroyed. Images of the people fighting were showing up. I sat up and looked at the clock. It was 1:00 AM. I put my head down and tried to rest. I eventually found that it was no use so I went down to the center's Pokemon play area. I sat with a Spoink and pet it while it bounced happily. I stayed and played with the Pokemon until around 5 when I saw Rose come in.

"Hey" she said

"Hi" I said.

"If you can't sleep we can get going soon. We have a long trek through the water today to get to mossdeep city."

"Yeah sure" I said. I quickly showered and ate. We were at the shore at 6:30. The sun was rising. I let out Skyskater and we each sat on a side of her and she took off. I put my feet in the water.

"How you doing?" Rose asked.

"I'm fine." She put a hand on my back.

"It'll be okay, Skye. Don't worry"

We sat for a long time in silence and at 8:00 we saw the shore of mossdeep city. We got off Skyskater and ran to the center. We gave Skyskater to Joy and then got into our room. Only one bed and a bathroom. I sat on the floor and rubbed my eyes. Rose sat on the bed. "Whatcha want to do?" She asked.

"No idea I'm not really feeling like a gym fight right now. Maybe we could just have a beach day?"

"That sounds awesome" we quickly got into our swimsuits and went to the beach. We let our Pokemon out and went to the water. We splashed each other and played for a long time. When the day was winding down we looked out at the sunset. We saw the orange sun at the horizon. I looked over at Rose who looked beautiful in the moonlight. She smiled and so did I. I looked back at the sun and it had gotten bigger and closer.

Then I realized. The orange thing is not the sun. It was team magma.
