Chapter 19

I sat up off the ground. Rose was still asleep. I showered and when I got out she was still asleep. We had a lot of traveling to do today. I put on some clothes and I kissed Rose to wake her up. She smiled.

"Good morning," she said.

"Hey sleepyhead," I said. "We gotta get going soon. It's already 8:30."

She got up and went to the shower. I watched tv until she was done and then we went to the cafeteria together. We were ready to leave by 9. I got on Skyskater's back and she got on Rocky's back so we could fly to Mauville. This made us feel kind of stupid for not just flying to Petalburg yesterday.

We landed in Mauville and went east until we saw a lake. Skyskater got in the water and we got on her back. She swam across the lake with ease and we got off. We started walking until we saw some grass that went well above our heads.

We started to trudge through it and it got rainy. The humidity from the rain and the heat was really hard to get through. We kept walking until a large figure came out of the grass. It was a Tropius, a large grass pokemon that can fly. We both stepped back and I sent out Blade to help take it down.

Blade slashed and made the Tropius pretty weak. I was about to defeat it when Rose threw and empty Pokeball at it. She captured a new team member.

"Now I can fly on my own pokemon," she said. She named him Razor. We kept walking until it started to become dark. There was no place to stay that we could find. After a little more searching we found a pokemon center out in the grass. It was 9 when we got there.

Joy gave us keys to our room. There were only 3 rooms. We walked in. It was the worst room we had yet. There were two mats on the ground, a wide open bathtub and a wide open toilet and sink. Rose grimaced. There weren't any public bathrooms in the center. Joy came up.

"Sorry, kids," she said. "Not many people stay at this center so it gets hardly any funding. Have a nice night."

She left and I put my stuff on the floor. We were both wet and muddy from the rain and both needed to wash. However, the washing accommodations were not the best. Rose started to fill up the tub.

"It's fine," she said. "It's not like we've never seen each other naked before." She took off her clothes and got into the tub. She used some soap from her bag because the center had none. I went after her and went to bed on my mat in my underwear. Rose was topless and sleeping on her mat.

It was hard to sleep because it was so uncomfortable but eventually I fell asleep.

We both woke up around 7:30 and left quick. We only had an hour walk to Fortree City. There was no cafeteria so we just ate some snacks from our bag. We walked north for a while and finally saw the city. It was a beautiful city, all built on treetops. We climbed a ladder which led us to the pokemon center.

This center had one queen bed, a stain glass shower, and a toilet with a curtain around it. There was also a TV in the corner. We plopped our stuff down and headed to the gym. It was finally time to prove that I was the flying master.
