It was late one night when I was laying on top of the van, we were stopped in an abandoned country side miles way form civilization and Z's. I was trying to count the stars when I heard a voice "Hey..." it said. I turned my head and saw Warren. "Hey..." I said back in a quiet voice. "You miss them Huh?" She asked. "Of course, but it's better that there not here dealing with all this devastation." I replied looking back at the stars. "You know you and 10k have a few things in common." She said smiling at me. "Oh, uh I.. I don't know." I said. "And I've notice he's taken quit the interest in you." She smirked. "Really? You think so." I asked biting my lip. She smiled at me and said "just give him a change. I know it's hard to let your walls down and let someone in, but you might be surprised." She said as she started to walk away. "Hey Warren..." I said. "Yea Angel?" She said turning back around. "Thank you, for everything. You're a lot like my mom." I said with a smile. She smiled and nodded her head. I laid there for a minuet then I looked down through the window of the van and saw everyone fast asleep. I smiled and looked back up at the stars. "Heart beats fast. Colors and promises, How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall? But watching you stand alone, All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow." I sang to myself as I connected the shiny little dots that covered the sky. "What song is that?" I herd a voice from behind me ask. I jumped in fright of not knowing anyone else was awake. I looked over to see 10k looking at me. "Oh, um... it's called A Thousand Years. I used to listen to it all the time when I was younger." I said. "It's nice." He said. "You don't really talk much do you, I mean to the others." I said looking at him. He looked away. "I... I'm sorry. I kind of have a habit of speaking before thinking." I stuttered. He smiled. "It's okay. Can I join you?" He asked. "Sure." I said scooting over. As we sat there in silence I started to whisper another song to myself, " The last time I freaked out, I just kept looking down. I st- st- stuttered when you asked me what I'm thinking about, Felt like I couldn't breathe. You asked what's wrong with me, My best friend Les-" but before I could finish the last line 10k spoke, "You have a nice voice." I looked at him and said, "Oh, thank you." My face got hot and I thanked God it was dark so he couldn't see me blushing. "Your blushing." He whispered. "Bu- how... how di- I give up." I said with a chuckle at the end. He laughed. As we sat there for a while I started to shiver. "Maybe we should get back inside the van. It's warmer in there." He said. I nodded and he helped me off the top of the van. We both got in the back, but I was still shivering. He hesitated for a minuet then wrapped his arms around me. I scooted closer for more warmth and rested my head on his shoulder. The next morning we woke up and it was still freezing. "Let's go everyone! We need to hit the road." Hollered Murphy. "Ugh!" I mumbled. Murphy hit on the back of the window. "Come on love birds! Wakie! Wakie!" He said mockingly to 10k and I. I quickly took my gun out of its holster and pointed it at his head. "You got to tell this chick to stop pointing guns at me!" He nagged to Warren. "Well maybe if you left her alone she would stop." She replied. Murphy rolled his eyes and walked away. We both got up and saw everyone packing up there stuff. "Are we traveling on foot now?" I asked. "Sadly yes, the radiator in the van is shot if we try to drive that thing with no water we'll all blow up." Said Warren. I nodded and helped finish packing the last of our things then we set off. We walked for what seemed like forever when we came upon this old country house. We all ran for it, but stopped when we got a few yards away to search for Z's. We couldn't find any so we proceeded into the house. We went through all the rooms when I found what seemed like a teenager's room. "Hmm." I thought to myself. I opened the closet and my eyes widened. "Cassandra! Addie! Come check this out!" I yelled from inside the room. They both walked in. "What's up?" Said Addie. "Holly hall of clothes!" Said Cassandra "Right." I said with a smile. "Well it is getting colder... think any of them are our size?" Said Addie. "There only one way to find out." I said. We all went for the clothes. I ended up putting on a black long sleeve fitted crop top, tight black jeans, and my combat boots. I continued to look around when I saw a camo jacket that looked like my old one, I put it on and it was much more flexible and warmer than my old one so I kept that too. I put my satual back on my hip and grabbed my bow and arrow. The three of us walked back into the front room where everyone else was. "Whoa..." said two voices. We looked over and saw Mack and 10k starring at us. "Angel... you look... a- amazing" he stumbled on his words. "Thank you 10k." I said smiling. Cassandra just rolled her eyes and walked away.
