California: Waist Land

A few days went past and i kept a close eye on the group while still keeping my distance, but i was starting to regret my decition because Cassandra was starting to move in on 10k. *three days ago* the group had found a secure place to camp right next to a river. It was late and 10k was sitting by the water. "Hey you." said Cassandra sitting next to him. "Oh... Hey." he said. "10k im sorry this happened to you. Its not fair." she said putting her hand on his back. 10k looked at her and said, "She needs space, She just lost her dad and it was my fault." "No it wasn't. It was a Z's fault you did what you had to do to protect the rest of us and her... She should understand that." she said. 10k just looked over the water then got up and walked away. -present day- "10k you should sit with me in the back!" said Cassandra. "Yea o-" he started to say but before he could finish Warren chimed in and said, "No i need him in front. Were entering California now and their going to sworm us." "shes right." he said then hopped in the front. Warren looked back into the trees and mouthed, "be safe." then hopped into the driver seat. Before they drove off i got a head start making sure i didnt get to far away from them. When we reached the border of california i was in shock, it was like a Zombie breading ground. I watched as they made their way through i could feel a knot forming in my stomach. They stopped at a small store to see if they could salvage anything. I slowly walked up keeping an eye out for Z's. I sighed and walked up to the group i couldn't stand not being with them. "Hi guys..." i said. Everyone turned around in shock. "Angel, what are you doing here?" asked Cassandra. "I've been fallowing you guys. I couldn't live with myself if you guys got hurt." i said. 10k dropped everything he was holding and said, "You've been there the whole time? You.... You didnt leave me?" he cracked a smile then scooped me up and spun me around. I wraped my arms around him and held him close. Cassandra rolled her eyes. "Are we just going to forget she abandoned us!" she said. "If you think about it she really didn't, She said shes been fallowing us this whole time." said Addie. "Whatever!" said Cassandra. "Its good to have you back Angel, but we have to get going." said Warren. We all nodded then 10k and i got into the front with Warren. 10k could barly look at me and i felt horrible. We made it to a small town called Santa Cruz. There was a broken down amusment park and a bunch of little shops. "Looks like this used to be a tourist spot." said Mack. "My parents brought me here when i was little." i said. As we were walking across the board walk i saw something sparkle between the boards. I knelt down and wiggled it loose. It was a gold bracelet. I put it on and we continued walking. I could here something in the distance and when i turned arround a sworm of Z's was rushing towards us. "Uh guys... We should run, like NOW!" i yelled in a panic. They all looked back then took off running. We all scattered and hid in different shops. Warren and Doc ended up in the limonade stand; Murphy, Mac and Addie hid in the candy shop; 10k and cassandra hid in a operating booth and i hid behind the counter of the gift shop. As the sworm rushed throught us i couldnt help but notice 10k holding Cassandra. My heart broke, while i was waiting out the sworm i went through what was behing the counter i put on a shark tooth necklace, i pulled my hair up into a ponytail and wrapped a camo bandana around my head then i put on a pair of dark sunglasses and sat in silence. We sat there for a good 15 minutes before we could finally come out. When I peaked my head out i noticed the others. All except Cassandra and 10k. Everyone gathered and i went over to the operating booth and saw them cuddled together sleeping. My heart sank in to my stomach and a tear rolled out from under the sunglasses. I kicked the wall waking them up, then stormed off. 10k called after me, but i just kept walking Addie fallowed me. I reached a bathroom and started pacing back and forth. I felt sick to my stomach, so sick i ended up throwing up in the trash can. Addie rushed in, "Angel! Oh my god. Are you okay?" she asked. I looked at her and crumbled into her arms and cried. "I knew i shouldnt have left i knew it! I should have stay behind and went with my dad." i sobbed. "Oh angel dont talk like that!" she said. I pulled myself up and dried my face. "Are you going to be okay?" asked addie. "Eventually." i said. We both walked out and reconnected with the rest of the group "Angel..." said 10k. I just ignored him. "Everyone ready?" asked Warren. We all said yes and headed towareds the car. "Angel wait... Please." he said grabbing my arm. I pulled out my hand gun and pointed it at 10ks chest and said, "Don't touch me." then i put my hand gun back in its holster. "You pulled a gun on me..." he said in shock. "You broke my heart, what did you expect?" i said then walked away.
