Trust and Loyalty.

A few days later the group and I were hiking up some hills when we heard a buzzing sound. "Do you guys here that?" I said. "Oh thank God you hear it too I thought I was going nuts." Said Doc. We continued up the hill when three large towers came into sight. "What are they?" Asked Addie. "It looks like a nuclear plant." Said Cassandra. "Uh guys... do you see what I see?" Asked Murphy. "Well if your talking about the glowing Zombies than yes." Said Doc. "Let's check it out!" I said heading down the hill. Everyone else began to fallow when Murphy spoke out, "Are you all out of your minds! Your going to let some little girl lead you into what could be your deaths?" "Murphy we need a vehicle and I don't see one on that hill. So yes we are fallowing her." Said Warren coldly. We all continued walking when a voice rang out."I agree with Murphy!" We all turned around to see Cassandra standing next to him. "Are you apart of this team or not?" Warren asked. "Of course I am!" Snapped Cassandra. "I just don't think we should trust her, I mean how much do we really know about her!" She said narrowing her eyes at me. 10k stood in front of me as if he thought she was going to attack me. "Listen! Warren knows what she's doing so if she trusts Angel then so do we." Said Addie. "She's right, if Warren wasn't sure about her then she wouldn't be here." Said Mack. "So, I'm going to ask you again Cassandra, are you with us or not?" Said Warren. She looked at all of us for a minute then spoke, "Yes, I'm with you." "Then let's go." Warren said coldly. We all walked down tell we got to a fence. "Its closed, Oh Well we tired." Murphy said hoping we would walk away. "I see an opening over there." I said pointing. "Of course you do." Murphy said rolling his eyes. We all walked over to the opening. "Murphy and Doc you stay here the rest of us will check things out." Said Warren. We got through the gate and continued to walk up to the towers. We didn't see any Z's on this side if the plant so we continued into the small building to see what we could find. We got inside, but couldn't find anything all of the sudden I heard moaning and growling. "Everyone shh!" I whispered. Everyone stopped and stayed real quiet. I slowly looked around the corner and saw two Zs, but they weren't just any Zs they were glowing. I grabbed my bow and a normal arrow and aimed for the largest ones head. I took a deep breath, but right as a went to shoot a loud bell rang out startling me and making me miss my shot. The Zs noticed me and started running towards us "Guys? Run!!" I yelled we all took off and the Zs fallowed. We ducked and hid behind crates and barrels. "Can anyone get a clear shot?" Asked Mack. We all shook our heads. But out of no where we heard gun shots. We all looked up to see dead Zs, three people we didn't know, and Doc and Murphy. All right all of you come out with your hands up. We all stood up with our hands raised. "Drop all your weapons. Now!" Yelled the man. We all put down our weapons. "Grab them girls." Snapped the man. The two girls standing next to him quickly grabbed our weapons. " Okay you have 10 seconds to tell me who you are and what your doing hear." He said. Warren stepped forward. "Keep your hands up!" The man hollered. "Okay, okay." Said Warren. "My name is commanding officer Warren, this is Mack, Addie, Cassandra, Angel, and 10k, and over there that's Doc and Murphy. We are on a special mission to get Murphy to California. we didn't mean to trespass sir. We were just looking for some supplies and transportation. Can you help us?" She said. The man looked at her for a minuet then slowly put down his gun and said, "California you say." Warren nodded and the man told us to fallow him. we walked for about a mile when we came to a house. They invited us in and gave us some food and water. We all starvingly shoved food into our mouths. "So if your headed to California what brings you to our little town?" Asked the man. "Our car broke down so we started hiking and we stumbled upon that power plant." Warren replied. "Hanna. Ashley. Go get their weapons." Said the man. "Are they your daughters?" Asked Warren. "Yes. Hanna's 21 and Ashley is 16 their all I have left. I'm Jack by the way." He said. "It's very nice to meet you and your daughters." Said Warren. The girls came back and gave us all our weapons. "Dad! You need to see this!" Yelled one of the girls Jack went to go see what was going on then a few minutes later he rushed back in. "You all need to get out of here! Now!" He said in a panic. "Whoa, what's going on? What happened." Said Mack. "Its the nuclear plant something went wrong with one of the reactors, in a few hours this place is going to be destroyed." He said in a panic. "Is there anyway we can fix it?" "I... I'm not Sure. The only person who knows how to fix it is Will and he's not very social." He said. "I think he'll listen when it involves his life. Can you take us to him?" Asked Warren. "Y... yes." He said. We got to the man's house when 10k stopped us. "Everyone wait." Said 10k. He got down close to the ground. "Land mines." He said. "Angel can you find a way in through the back?" He asked. "I'm on it." I said sneaking around back extra carefully. As I searched for another way in 10k guided them through the yard and up to the man's door. "Stop right there!" Said the man hold a gun up to the group. I crept up behind him and held up my gun. "I don't think you want to do that sir." I said. He swallowed hard and put down his gun and said, "What do you want from me?" "We just need to talk to you." Said Warren. "Fine. Come in." He said. I put down my gun and we fallowed him into his house. "The nuclear plant is going to explode. And your the only one who might know how to fix it. We need your help." Said Warren. it took a while of conveniencing, but he finally agreed to help us. Back at the plant Jack and his daughters tired to figure out what was wrong. We got to the plant and met up with Jack and his girls. "So what did you find out?" Asked Doc. "The cooling system is jammed, someone will have to go up and unjam it manually." He said. "I'll go." Said Will. "Me too" said Jack. "We'll need some people to help keep the Z's away." He said. "I'll go." I said. "Angel are you crazy? You could die in there!" 10k said. "10k I'll be Okay." I said. "I'm not letting you-" he began. "I'm a big girl 10k. I can take care of myself." I snapped. "Alone... I'm not letting you go alone." He continued. "I'm going to." Said Cassandra. "Alright. But you know if you don't come back." Warren began to say. "You'll go on without us." "We know and we will be back." I said. As we all continued to the plant Z's came running at us. We killed them off one by one. "Ahhh!" we heard a man yell. Out of our sight a Z jumped on Jack. "Daddy!" I heard a voice scream. "Keep her back!" I yelled. 10k ran and stopped her from getting any closer. When I turned back around I saw a zombiefied Jack. "Jack, I give you mercy." I said taking the shot with out hesitation. "Ashley you need to go back. Now!" Said 10k. She ran back to the others and we continued forward. We got to the base of the plant and put on some radiation suits. We continued up the stairs and took out any Z's in sight. "Okay this is as far as you two can go. Your suits won't protect you up here." Will said to Cassandra and I. "I'm not letting him go up there alone!" I said. "Angel, I'm going to be okay. I'll see you down there." He said. He gave me a kiss then continued on with out us. "Come on! We need to get out of here." Cassandra snapped. I fallowed her down when I slipped and fell off the staircase I grabbed on to the side. "Cassandra!! Help me!" I screamed. She looked over the edge and saw Z's down below me. "I can't hold on much longer! Please! Help me!" I cried. She hesitated. "Why should I?" She snapped. "What? You're not serious!" I screamed. "You've just been a pain in my ass since day one! You turned my team against me and stole 10k" She replied. "Cassandra please! I'm sorry I didn't mean to do any of that, please I don't want to die!" I cried. "Please I'm begging you!" I said looking up at her, just then my hand started slipping. "Ahhh!" I screamed just as I started to fall she grabbed me and pulled me up. "Let's go! And just for the record I only saved you because they would blame me if you died." She snapped.
~Back at the top~
"Okay 10k, you're going to lower me down and I'll push the bars in manually." Said Will. 10k nodded and lowered him down then one by one he pushed all three bars in. "10k you need to get out of here." Will said "Wait what about you?" Said 10k. "I don't want to live anymore. All this deviation, I lost my son to those Damn Zs!" He yelled. "Sir please! Don't do this!" Said 10k. "I'm sorry son, your a good kid." He said and with that he unhooked himself and fell into the reactor.
~back out side~
Cassandra and I continued to run. Once out of the base we tore off our suites and hurried out the gate. I nervously waited for 10k.
~A few minuets later~
My heart skipped a beat when I saw 10k come out of the base and run for the gate. Once out of the gate he picked me up and spun me around. "I thought I lost you!" I said into his chest. "Where's Will?" Asked Hanna. "He threw him self into the reactor." 10k said in a sad tone. "But everything is stable." He assured. We all let out a sigh of relief. The girls ended up moving into Wills house since it had lots of supplies and it was well protected. They gave us food, water, amo and one of Wills vehicles. We told the girls thank you and good luck and were back on our way to California.
