The Hard Truth

A few days later we finally reached Nevada. "Are you excided to see your dad?" asked Addie. "Yea it's been a long time." I said with a smile. As we got closer to the base i could see a bunch of men in army suits waiting for us. As we got closer Z's swarmed us i used my non explosive arrows, 10k used his snipper gun and the two of us cleared a path. As we aproched the gates a familiar mans voice spoke. "Who are you and what is your buisness?" he asked. My smile and excitement grew to were i couldn't contain it anymore and i poped up out of the back. "Hi daddy!" i squealed. "Angel? Oh my god! What are you doing here? Is your mom and brothers with you?" he asked in excitement. I looked down with sorrow as a tear rolled down my cheak. His smile fell and he said, "oh, I see." i got out of the truck and hugged him. "Well atleast you got here safe." he said squeezing me tight. "These are my friends. They helped me get here, they kept me alive." I siad. My dad smiled and siad, "Thank you all for keeping my little girl safe." Warren smiled, "she kept us safe. You've got quite the hunter there sir." "please all of you come in you can stock up and get a good nights rest." he said. We all headed inside. They gave us lunch as we sat and talked about the last few years and how this group got together. Then they explained the importance of getting Murphy to California. "Well we would be happy to help you get the rest of the way there. Through out the corse of the day we stocked up the truck with amo, food, and fule. That night was the first night i was able to shower in weeks. It felt amazing! After my shower i headed to my room, but i was stopped when i heard two voices. "You're not seriously thinking about staying are you?" "Yes Cassandra i am!" "but we need you! You're one of the best Z killers we have! You cant abandoned us now, after everything we've been through!" "I don't care! I love Angel and im not leaving her!" "10k dont be stupid!" "I'm not! But i think you should leave Cassandra... before you say something you'll regret." I held on to my towle as i listened, i froze outside the door. When Cassandra walked out she jumped at the sight of me, she looked down then pushed pass me. I looked into the room at 10k. He didn't even have to look up, "you heard all of that didn't you?" he asked. "Yea." I said quietly. "Come here." he said with his hand out. I sat down next to him and he put his arms around me. He kissed my forehead and laid back. I clung to his shirt and barried my face in his chest. We both ended up falling asleep. My dad had came to my room to tell me goodnight, but i wasn't there so he went looking for me, when he got to 10ks room he peered inside and noticed us. He was going to wake us up, but he realized i probably hadnt slept in days so he left us be. The next morning at breakfast 10k informed the rest of the group that he would not be continuing on with them and all except Cassandra agreed that he should stay. The day went on and we helped warren and the rest finish laoding up the truck. "Feel free to come back when your mission is over, we'd love to have ya here." said my dad. "We might just take you up on that sir." Warren said with a chuckle. Just then we heard screaming. I grabbed the closest gun and headed towards the sound. "Angel! What are you doing get back here!" he yelled. "Dose she always do this?" he asked the rest. They all nodded. When i finally found were the screams were coming from i saw one of the childeren trying to reach higher ground to get away from a Z. "How the hell did one of you get in here?" i said to myself. I tried to get a clear shot, but i couldnt there was too much junk in my way. The Z ended up getting the girl. "Oh come on!" i heard someone yell from behind me i looked back and it was Cassandra. I turned back around to see the Zs noticed me, i went to shoot one when i descovered i had no bullets. "Oh shit!" i said to myself and took off running. They both chased me down as i led them closer to Cassandra she got them both right inbetween the eyes. "Nice shot!" I said out of breath. Thats when we heard more screaming. We both took off. We got to the other side and we noticed a hole in the fence and a 100 and 1 Zs coming through it. "We have to warn everyone!" i said. She nodded and we both took off for the front entrance. "Everyone! We need to get out of here now! Zs have broken the barrier!" i shouted. Everone just looked at me. "Why should we believe you?" a man shouted. "You dont believe me? Fine! Stay here and get eaten, but why risk the chance that im not telling the truth!" i siad. Just then my dad bursed through the door "Everyone we have to evacuate now!" he shouted. I looked at the man and said, "believe me now?" we all hurried out with the Zs hot on our tail I wasn't able to get my bow and arrows from my room so Warren gave me her spare gun. "10k!" my dad said. "Yes sir?" he replied. "If i dont make it out of this you MAKE SURE you get her out safely! She needs you 10k promise me you wont let me down." he said looking into 10ks eyes. 10k nodded and said, "yes sir you have my word." it was like a maze trying to get out of that place everywear we went there were Zs before we knew it we were the only ones left. We locked ourselves into the main control room thinking it was clear but as we checked it out a Z jumped out and attacked my dad. "DADDY!!" i screamed. Just then 10k pulled me aside as Warren had to shoot the zomebie and my father who had just turned. I barried my face into 10ks chest and screamed and cried. "Come on we have to go!" said Warren. As we were running down the hall we reached my room i quickly ran inside and grabbed my bow and arrows. As i turned to walk out i noticed my dads army jacket laying on the chair. "Daddy...." a tear rolled down my cheak just before 10k rushed in and said, "come on we gotta hurry!" i grabbed my dads jacket and hurried behind 10k. We got to the front intrance witch was covered with Zs. "Get in the truck!" said Warren. "What are we gunna do?" i asked hopping into the back. Just then Warren started up the truck and plowed through the swarm of Zs. "How she doing back there 10k?" asked Warren. 10k just simply shook his head has as i was sitting in the truck bed clinging to my dads jacket crying. He wrapped his arms around me and just simply held me close.
