"You have all men on their knees. You so damn good at everything, so perfect, I hate it. I hate you, Stone. Your smell, your kindness, your voice, your smart mouth, your nerve. Everything. And now you have me thinking about kissing those lips...I wa...
"What?" Draco questioned, certain that he had misheard Anna's words. It surely sounded like she had said 'hurt me'. She approached him daringly and dropped her wand to the ground.
"Go on, hurt me. Surely you know the cruciatus curse, right? Use it on me" Anna provoked Draco and he took a step back.
"Are you insane? That will really hurt, you know" He warned her, knowing the effects of the curse first hand. His aunt had been using it on him a few times while his mother was not present, to 'teach him' how to toughen up and shield his mind.
"I can handle it. Besides, what do you care? You are evil, right? It won't be an issue" Anna pushed him and Draco realised what she was doing. She was trying to prove that he had a heart and that he was not capable of hurting her. That was very far from the truth, however. Draco could easily hurt others, he had already used this curse before on his elf while he was being taught how to cast it. Although he felt bad about it afterwards but...he was capable of hurting someone. He was sure of that.
"Fine" Draco growled stubbornly. "Don't say I didn't warn you" He drew his wand and raised his arm.

The moment he looked Anna's doe-like eyes staring at him, his arm started trembling. He did not wish for her to feel the pain he had felt. But he was a bad guy...right? "Cr-Cru-Crucio..." he mumbled but his wand did nothing, because he never had the intention of casting the curse on Anna. "I can't do it. Why can't I do it?" Draco muttered almost in panic. If he could not bare the thought of hurting Anna, how would he ever manage to kill his headmaster? Or even hurt others as a Death Eater. He started hyperventilating.
"I told you, you are not a bad person, Draco" Anna said in a soft voice and touched his shoulder.
"I am!" he spat and pushed her hand away. He looked away and Anna walked around him to meet his glance. Draco scowled and crossed his arms in defence.
"You speak as if you want to be a bad person"
"Perhaps I do" said Draco in a hoarse voice.
"Why?" Anna persisted but Draco had no intention of sharing that part of him with her. Not only because he had his secrets, but because it was a dark place for him to visit.
"Can we not talk about it?"
"Okay. Well now you know what I see in you" said Anna and showed Draco her pearly teeth, filling his heart with warmth. His mind fantasised about how it would be like for him if he had met Anna before becoming a Death Eater. Before getting involved with the Dark Lord and promising that he would kill a man to redeem his family's name. Before he swore to be an enemy for muggleborns and their supporters. It would still be difficult, there was no doubt, but he could maybe have a relationship with her without being on the radar, and hoping that they could hide somewhere where they could be together.
"I wish I had met you a year ago" Draco blurted out and Anna narrowed her eyes in curiosity.
