Three Days Before the Wedding

Clary

Magnus conjured an arch and decorated it with the roses matching my dress. It was beautiful and everything was coming together for the wedding. I looked up and saw Jace on the terrace pacing back and forth. I really think that this wedding has him nervous like I never saw before. The next thing I knew, I was next to him without even knowing how I got there and held him in my arms. He looked at me with that smirk that just melts me away and kissed me lightly on my lips.

"You are going to pace a rut onto our concrete terrace if I did not come to stop you. This is not a dangerous mission you are going to or is it?"

"No babe, I am so sorry. It is my wedding too and I have to admit that I am nervous. Everything is looking beautiful and our day is almost here."

"Yes, it is, and I have to admit that I am nervous too. One way to look at it is that we will be married and it will be over. The wedding I mean."

"I sure hope you mean the wedding day, not anything else. Just kidding, because I do know what you mean, Mrs. Herondale."

"The name sounds like magic to my ears, Mr. Herondale."

Well, today is our wedding day. The list ended up being the immediate family, Maia, and Bat, a couple of Shadowhunter friends of Jace and Alex, Robert Lightwood and his new wife. I was really nervous even though I have wanted Jace since the day I met him. Magnus and Izzy help me get into my dress and they both worked on my hair and makeup. The best thing I loved about the dress is the fact that it was designed to hide my big baby bump. For one day, I will feel beautiful even though motherhood makes me feel good about myself, it does not allow me to be beautiful all the time. Jace doesn't care and treats me like I am the most beautiful woman in the world as far as he is concerned. Luke knocked on the bedroom door to let me know that it was time. He took one look at me and tears came to his eyes.

"Oh kiddo, you look so beautiful. I can not believe how my little girl has grown up to be a beautiful woman, wife, and mother. Jocelyn would be so proud of you."

"Thanks, Dad. I feel like she is right here with me."Well, let us not keep Jace waiting any longer.

"That boy has waited as it seems forever to marry you."

We walked out of my room and headed downstairs towards my new life and Jace, my Jace.

"Listen, I want to move the wedding up so that we can get married in one week. We have your gown and my tux, and the rings will be ready in another day. Are you okay with this?"

"Of course it is okay. I do not care when we get married as long as we do. Let us hope the others are okay with this."

Jace pulled me into his arms and kissed me. We went back to bed and Jace held me against his chest and we finally fell asleep.

"Sorry guys. I do not mean to sound rude, but the nightmares I have been having had me on edge."

Magnus stood up and went to put his hand on Jace's shoulder.

"Jace, tell us about your nightmares."

"Clary and I kiss, start walking down the aisle and a guest stands up and runs Clary through the stomach and out her back with a Seraph blade. She was dead by the time she fell and I caught her. I wake up screaming her name. Clary has not gotten a good night's sleep in two days. I just want to marry her, wait for our child's birth, and go on with our lives. This is what I want but the reality is that we have to hunt down whoever is behind this plan to kill Clary and our child. He or she is out there, and we need to find them first."
