Chapter 5

Clary

This has been the most wonderful night of my life. I found him and he is mine. He is so beautiful with his golden hair and blue and brown eyes. The most important thing of all is that he is my baby's father. I was so scared to know who it was, but I am so happy that it is him. My dreams were a reality that I was forced by the angel Raziel to forget. Never again. I will never lose him again. I woke up looking around trying to get my bearings. I felt something warm next to me and realized that it was Jace fast asleep. I slowly got up without waking him so that I can call Holly. She is probably worried about me.

"Holly, it's me. Sorry that I did not go to your room last night. I stood over Jace's apartment."

"What? You just met this guy, Clary, are you crazy?"

"It is a long, and unbelievable story. You know that when I came back to school, I was suffering from amnesia and did not remember how it happened and why I could not remember the last two years. This included who my baby's father is."

"Yeah, I remember. Are you saying that Jace is part of that memory loss?"

"Yes, he is. I have been having dreams about him lately. It turns out that my dreams are bits and pieces of my memories coming back. Jace is my boyfriend and has been for the last two years. He is my baby's father. When I bumped into him yesterday, I saw flashes of us together. We talked a lot at the coffee shop and more memories started coming back to me. Listen, I got to go. I just wanted to let you know that I am alright."

"Wow, that is some story, Clary. I am really happy that things are working out for you. I guess I will see you when you get back to the dorm. You do need to tell me what happened and how you lost your memories."

I was hanging up the call when strong arms wrapped around me. Jace has woken up and came to the living room looking for me. I turned in his arms to face him and kissed him. He ran his tongue over my bottom lip asking for entrance to my mouth and I parted my lips for him. He deepened his kiss and I was lost in his kiss. We parted to catch our breath and he asked me who I was calling.

"Who were you talking to?"

"Holly, my friend. I needed to let her know that I was alright. Remember, I made her leave and stood at the coffee shop with a stranger."

"What did you tell her?"

"The truth. That the memory loss I had about the last two years was beginning to come back and that you were a big part of it. That you are not only my boyfriend of two years but also my baby's father. She is really happy for me."

"I want to talk to you about us. When I got this apartment, was with the hope that you would come back to me. It is two bedrooms so there will be a room for a nursery. I do not want to push the issue, but you are more than welcome to stay here with me. I want you back by my side where you belong."

"Jace, I have been thinking about it. Yes, I want to stay here with you. It will make it easier for me to regain my memories without revealing secrets to Holly. I want you to be with me through this pregnancy every step of the way. Besides, it was great waking up to you by my side. I did not have any dreams either. You have always made me feel safe, that much I do remember."

"Well, that is great! I was really hoping you would stay. Today is my first day of work at my new job and I do not have to be there until three. I have a part of the day to help you get your things and move in."

"A job, really? I thought that all you know is being a Shadowhunter."

"Actually, I did learn how to cook with my mom, Maryse. I will be working as a prep cook at Chivalry, down the block from the Art Academy."
