a/n: this is bad sorry, i don't know how to make them get to know each other without make them cringey XD feel welcome to judge
also, just wanted to pop in to say, over working in the gym may not be for you. personally, i hate it. i despise the feeling of coming home with pains in my legs after pushing myself TOO much. remember that everyone's bodies are different. your limits are different. a good workout doesn't always mean achy bodies. take care of yourself xx
Charlie woke up bright and early on Saturday. She was never one to lie in. Her mum always told her when she was younger 'the early bird gets the worm' - she took it to heart. So, she got up at 5:30AM and got dressed in to her gym clothes, ready for a quick workout before her shift at Pots at 8.
Charlie loved to work out. She loved the burning sensation in her muscles when they had been worked a bit too hard. She loved the feeling of being out of breath after pushing herself that bit more. The only thing she didn't love was the feeling of her sweaty and clammy skin after an intense work out. So, here she was, just finishing her mountain climbers, pushing her hair behind her ears and wiping her head with her towel. She thrived in the ache she felt in her thighs and arms, knowing that it meant she had done well.
She checked the time, 6:45AM. The next thing on her to do list was a piping hot shower. Charlie also flourished in the feeling of her skin tingling when the shower was too hot. She enjoyed sometimes having to step back because the burn had become too much. She didn't think of it as a bad thing. Charlie shampooed and conditioned her hair gently, taking her time to sort out the greasy mess. She washed out the suds and turned off the shower.
Wrapping a towel around her waist, she stepped out and partly dried herself before heading into her room. She blow dried her hair and threw it up in to a high pony, pulling strands down to give her the messy look. Charlie slipped on her uniform and headed out of her room.
One thing she knew she couldn't mess up was pancakes. They were her signature dish. Deciding to make up for last night, Charlie quickly made the batter and cooked up a fresh batch of pancakes for the boys.
She left a small note.
"
Good morning,
Hope you enjoy these, I promise they're better than my pasta. I'm heading to work! (Pots)
Charlie xx
"
She headed out the door with a smile on her face.
Luke woke up at around eight o'clock. He hated waking up early, especially on weekends. Knowing that he wasn't going to fall back asleep, he headed into the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee. When he got there, he immediately noticed the stack of pancakes on the unit. He had to admit, they looked delicious. He read over the note that Charlie left and found himself smiling at the two kisses. His thoughts were quickly cut off by his annoying friends.
"What's got you smiling like that?" Calum teased as he sat on the stool. Luke flipped him off and handed him and the two other boys their pancakes.
"You made these?" Michael asked as he bit in to one, "they taste lovely!"
"No, Charlie did."
This caused Michael to choke on his pancake. Very loudly, might I add. He looked purely gobsmacked at the news. Calum, too, had his jaw to the floor. Ashton just shrugged and carried on eating, a pancake's a pancake in his eyes. Luke just laughed at his friends and carried on eating. Luke found himself eager to visit Charlie at her works. He'd play it off and claim that he "just wanted a coffee" but he enjoyed her company and wanted to see her.
So that's exactly what he did. At around ten, after two hours of severe procrastination, Luke found himself leaving the apartment to drive to Pots in order to "get a coffee." The boys knew where he was going, they didn't even need to ask. They understood why though, they really liked the girl too.
So ten minutes later, Luke found himself en route to the cafe. He didn't feel the need to drive because it was only a fifteen minute walk. He walked quick, making it there in just above five minutes though. He walked in through the door and the little bell jingled, signalling his entrance. He saw her there, serving up coffees and his feet took him there before he could register what he was doing.
"Hi, welcome to- Oh, hey, Luke," she smiled brightly at him and he felt his heart warm. Charlie furrowed her brows at him staring so intently.
"Shit, sorry. Hi, Char," he said back and she grinned at his use of the nickname. She liked it when people called her Char and Charls. She didn't know why, but she liked it more when he said it.
"What can I get you, Luke?" She asked, resting her elbows on the counter with a giddy smile on her face.
"Can I have a caramel macchiato? And..." he paused for a minute, wondering if he should ask his next question. He sucked it up, "...When's your break?"
She hid her blush and turned around when she was ready.
"Nice choice. And in about ten minutes," she replied, glancing to her watch. She looked back up to him and beamed.
"Great, I'll wait," and with that, he turned around to sit in the booth they met in.
Before long, his coffee was done and Charlie was on break. She walked over to him with his mug in her hand and placed it gently in front of him. She slid in opposite him and began her small talk.
"Tell me about yourself," she mumbled, her doe eyes staring up at him.
"What do you want to know?"
"Everything."
"I have two older brothers - Jack and Ben. My
Mum's name is Liz and my Dad's name is Andrew," he began, trying to remember interesting facts abut himself, "my favourite colour is yellow... my favourite animal would be a dog. I love dogs. Also, I really like singing, I've always wanted to be in a band, that would be my dream," he trails
off. "How about you?""I have an older sister and a younger brother - Logan and Mackenzie. My parents have a thing for unisex names. My mother's name is Harlow and my Dad is Tobias. My favourite colour is purple - basic I know. I love dogs too!" She gushed at the last bit, she loved a boy who adored dogs, "being in a band sounds so cool. Why do you like it?" She understood it was a dull question but she asked it anyways.
He shrugged for a moment and thought about the answer, "I like to use songs to voice my emotions, I write them a lot. The boys used to be in a band together but they broke up because they always disagreed on things. I always try to make subtle jokes about starting one, hoping they'd catch on but they never do."
She frowned at him for a moment but he shook his head and waved her off. "Don't! I didn't mean to give you a sob story, I'm sorry," he laughed, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Shut up, you don't sound like that. Why don't you suggest it to them? Maybe you could be the glue to hold them together," she suggested, sounding jokey but she really meant it, "I reckon you'd all be amazing in a band together."
"You really think so?"
"I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. Plus, if you get together, you can give me free concerts all of the time before you get big."
"Of course, I need someone to practice on, right? How about that? I'll come to you with all of my songs, you tell me if they're good or bad. You'll be like my mini manager, huh?" He laughed, planning it all out.
She laughed too, even snorting a little bit, "I could be like Simon Cowell!" She giggled and he laughed at her laugh, making her blush.
Charlie hid behind her hands with her pink cheeks. He leaned forward and grabbed her hands to pull them away from her face. When she did, she couldn't help but feel bashful. He stared at her for a while before she immediately shot to her feet.
"Um, my break's ended. I'll see you at home, Luke. Bye!" And she raced off to hide behind the counter.
a/n: i hate this <3
