Charlie and Luke didn't speak when they both got home. Not out of awkwardness, basically just because they had missed each other by a couple of minutes, as Luke got home and fell asleep straight away and Charlie arrived when he was outers.
It was now a week later and the weather outside was gorgeous. It was 77°F (25°c) out and the sun was scorching the floor. It was officially one of those days where you had to be wary of your pet's paws and had to make sure you dolloped in sun cream. Luke wasn't a fan of the sun. He liked winter time. He was a hot chocolate, pyjamas and stay in type of guy. He reveled in the cold, dark days.
Charlie was the complete opposite of Luke. Charlie loved hot days. She loved putting on her tanning oil and catching a bit of a tan. She was in love with the beach too. The warm sand in between her toes, the cold shallow sea that cooled you down - every bit of it.
That was all the persuasion she needed to muster up the confidence to ask the boys to go to the beach with her. They agreed quickly - they being Calum, Ashton and Michael. Luke wasn't very eager on the idea. He shook his head immediately at her, opposing majorly.
"Awh, why not Luke?" She pouted, dramatically pointing out of the window at the bright sun. He sighed and wiped his face with his hand.
"I don't like the sun, Char. I'd much rather stay here and watch Tv," he explained, "why don't you watch Tv with me, huh? That sounds much better than having sand all over you."
She deadpanned at him and motioned with her hands for him to get up. He ignored her though and carried on watching Tv. With a huff, she walked over to him and grabbed his hands - attempting to pull him to his feet.
"Charlieeee," he dragged out with a pout, "the sun and I don't get along. Look at me, I'm pale. I don't tan, I burn."
She stared at ihim quizzically but ended up shrugging her shoulders, "shame."
"Plus, I want you to meet my friend," she added on once she pulled him up. Reluctantly, he nodded and gave her a makeshift smile.

Everyone piled into Michael's minivan after they got all of their things ready. They soon pulled up at Amara's house which was ten minutes away from the beach. Charlie got out to greet her friend with a hug and the girls jumped in to the back seats. Amara was quick to say hello to all of the boys, not wanting to be rude. She instantly caught Calum's eye and he caught hers.
"I'm Calum," he held his hand out for her to shake but she brushed him off and engulfed him into a hug. A light blush lit up his apple cheeks, a dimpled smile followed.
"Hi, nice to meet you! I'm Amara," she cheesed, flashing her pearly whites. She then properly introduced herself to the other boys, making sure they didn't feel left out. Ashton, Luke and Michael greeted her back.
Soon enough, they all arrived at the beach. Amara and Charlie set up everyone's towels under a beach umbrella and they both laid next to each other, working on their tans. After a while, Charlie realised that she wasn't going to catch a tan in her clothes so she decided to take them off. Luke had to turn away as she took off her flimsy shirt and dainty little skirt. He subtly turned back around to see her in a cute pink bikini with ties at the side. She looked gorgeous.
He sat on his own towel, trying not to stare at the girl who didn't even notice how much attention she was getting. He could tell Mikey and Ashton were staring too. He could also tell she was a bit nervous. Her hands covered up her body in a state of self consciousness. She had the perfect figure in his eyes.
