a/n: i'm so i'm love ^^

Charlie and Luke had completely ignored what happened on that day. They almost kissed, big deal. They're adults, they can handle it and get over it. Yeah, right.

Luke thought about it everyday. He was seconds away from kissing the girl he's been obsessed with for a month and it was all ruined by a stupid creaky ferris wheel.

Charlie, too, thought about it. Not in the way Luke did though. Sure, she wanted it to happen but she didn't know why. She thought that her and Luke were just friends but the way she felt when she leaned towards him that day says otherwise.

Luke was happy that they almost kissed.

The only thing he didn't like was the aftermath of it. He didn't like being awkward with Charlie. In the month that he's known her, she has become his person, whether that be romantically or platonically. She just was.

Charlie was confused.

She had never thought about kissing him before but what happened came like second nature, almost like her body was caving in. It felt like her heart was saying, 'It's okay, you can do this now' even though her brain has never thought these tonight's before.

Neither of them have spoken since. Saying that, it has only been four days but it feels like a lifetime for the both of them. They were used to talking almost every hour of everyday and now the two were avoiding each other around the apartment.

The boys hated it. There was an awkward tension filling the atmosphere and none of them knew why. So, in order to get rid of it, they came up with a plan.

Step one.

Get Charlie in a room by herself.

This step was pretty easy. They were just going to wait for Charlie to go into the bathroom to brush her teeth and then step two will be in action.

"Charlie!" Ashton sang out to the apartment.

"Yes?"

"Come here!" He yelled.

She walked out into the kitchen to see the three boys sitting at the island with their heads in their hands and big smiles lighting up their faces. It looked like something out of a horror movie.

"Why don't you go brush your teeth?" Ashton asked, his head tilting.

What. The. Fuck. She thought.

"Is that you're way in saying my breath smells?" She deadpanned, giving him a dirty look. His mouth dropped.

"No... um, of course not. Me and the boys were just thinking about how we want to have a routine going on in the apartment. We want all toothy pegs brushed by 10:00AM and all I'm saying is it's 9:49 right now, Charlie. You best be moving."

She rolled her eyes.

"You boys are something else," she mumbled, walking to the bathroom.

Now, for step two.

Step two.

Tell Luke that Charlie has seriously injured in the bathroom and she needs medical attention ASAP or she'll die.

This one was for Michael. He had planned the whole thing out in his head. He was going to ACE this.

He quickly ran to Luke's room and pounded on the door.

"Luke! Luke, please!" He fake sobbed although a smirk crept up his face, "Luke, come here, quick!"

He could hear Luke groan but there was still no budge from the tall blonde.

"Luke, it's Charlie."

That got him up. Luke shot out of the bed and straight to his door.

"What? What happened? What's going on? Is she okay?" He rushed out of his room, almost slipping and falling in the process.

"Quick, she's fallen in the tub and I think she broke something. I think I saw a bone, Luke."

Michael's voice was so monotonous that it almost gave Luke doubts about what was going on. However he couldn't risk it if Charlie might be hurt.

He ran to the bathroom, past Calum and Ashton who were sipping their teas. Ashton looked almost happy but Calum had a sour look on his face and it weren't from the teabag.

As soon as he got to the bathroom his brows furrowed. Charlie stood there, brushing her teeth, no bruise or bone in sight.

"What the fu-"

Then the door slammed shut.

The two of them hear the lock click and they both start yelling.

"You idiots!"

"Dickheads!"

"Fuck you!"

There was no response. They heard the front door slam and Charlie rested her head against the door with a sigh.

"You look pretty," Luke mumbled, admiring Charlie's yellow floral dress. She couldn't help but smile.

"Thank you. You look nice," she commented back at his stripey pyjama bottoms and vest and cute little bunny slippers on his feet.

His face went pink. There's no going back from this embarrassment. Charlie had seen his bunny slippers.

"They're cute," she said, referring to them. He wanted to curl up into a ball and die. Even though the man liked to paint his nails and wear glittery eyeshadow sometimes, having Charlie see his bunny slippers did not make him feel very macho.

"Like you," he replied in a whisper, sounding like a teenager girl on her instagram posts. Charlie liked jt though.

She fumbled with her fingers before lacing them with his, "we're okay, right?"

"Of course we're okay."

He wrapped his arms around her. His left hand held her head against his chest and his other rested on the small of her back. She could hear his heart beating out of his chest and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't happy at the fact that she made him feel like that.

"Are we going to talk about what happened?" He asked, rocking them back and forth. His stomach was filled with nerves and he found himself struggling to breathe.

"If you want to, bubs."

Bubs. He liked bubs. Bubs made him feel good.

"I think... I think I um..." He didn't know how to
tell her. He wanted to tell her that he liked her and he wanted her to say it back but unfortunately it's not that easy for Luke. He could feel himself breaking out in a sweat. Why do I do this to myself? He thought.

"I know," she decided to say, "me too."

Luke could swear he felt his heart skip a beat.

"You're my person, Lu," she hugged him tighter.

He swallowed, "and you're mine."
