The taxi driver halts in front of Calliope's apartment complex and gets a shiver at his customer. The look of a pale reaper apprentice with her portable scythe in tow giving what that he thought was a "don't fuck with me" aura. As she sat down the driver typed in the GPS guide to the underworld airport and began driving in silence.
"Ello Calli glad to hear ye voys again ay" Watson's voice boomed at the other end of Calli's phone.
"Cut to the chase Amelia did you find her location?" Calli spoke back with a sense of urgency with her tone. Something that Amelia quickly caught wind of and spoke back again normally.
"Well there's good news about that and bad news." She spoke, typing in her findings to Calli's phone.
"So I reduced its location through detective work to a neighborhood complex in Munich, Germany. The bad news is that no, I wasn't able to find her exact address".
Calliope gave a sigh of both relief and burden. Sure she was able to reduce the location but would that be enough in four days? She pondered in silence for a second. Is she really prepared?
"Calli." Amelia broke the silence. Her usual chaotic demeanor replaced with one of concern. "If I were to be frank with you the odds of you being able to find her is slim, especially when you add the fact that you have to stream as well."
"Now I'm not saying that you don't talk to her. Instead that their may be other options like calling her when she gets her internet fixed or maybe visiting her when on another time when you are more composed-"
"It's not zero right?" Calli spoke over Amelia breaking her mid way.
"Ye-yes there's a slim chance in a future where you can meet her and keep your job." Amelia replied. I can't believe she's actually going to do this still she thought.
Calliope continued. "Look. I thank you for your concern Amelia but I don't think I can see a future without her as my homie you know?"
If the her Reaper sensei could describe one of Calliope's most flawed weaknesses it would be her attachment. Amelia saw that today. To think that an ageless, powerful reaper one that has lived longer than she has can fall to that desperation. It gave Amelia worry. But in the end Calliope is one of her best friends and as such she trusted her decision albeit with suspicion.
"I understand. And if you need anything I'll just be a call away."
"All right, call you soon". Calliope hung up her phone and gave a sigh of relief. Rubbing her eyes she took notice of the time, 4pm underworld time. For the past 5 hours Calliope spent her energy thinking and fixing for whatever scenario may happen and even packed bits of her streaming set up (such as her laptops, motion rig, tablet and power banks) to solve the scenario problems that Amelia gave worry to. Perhaps this was the reason to her confidence she thought.
Who knew that all the rush of doing these actions would bring a homebody like Calli to feel tired.
Looking up at the driver Calliope gave an evil smirk giving the driver's scared demeanor a whole lot more pale to his face.
That should keep him busy Calliope thought as she snuggled herself in her woolly jacket and began dozing off to a light nap.
The intercom boomed at the airport terminals or the last time that hour. "Last call for flight 589 to Munich airport, last call for flight 589 to Munich airport".
Calliope felt a familiar warmth. It was one not just as cozy as a Christmas fireplace but as loving as a familiar friend. Oh how she missed that moment.
"Excuse me? Uh Miss". Calliope was shaken awake by a shivering hand. Her eyes fluttered open like a kid that conceded to his parents.
"What is it?!" She spoke annoyingly stretching in the cramped car.
"We're here at the airport."
