There is a moment when you wake up, you feel completely peaceful and every horrible thought you've ever had is washed away with a tired like clarity. But it only last for a few seconds, and everything that's ever haunted you comes rushing back to remind you of reality.
Tris woke to this feeling, only to be faced with the one nightmare she never wished to see ever again.. Luke. He sat across from her on one of the couch in his dorm, a look of concern plastered on his face, which she just wanted to smack off, but she couldn't. When she tried to move something held her back, it was then she realized that he had tied her up. She struggled in frustration, but Luke just laughed at her.
"Doll, seriously, I've tied you up. You're not going anywhere." He shook his head and stood up, Tris eyes followed him as he came and sat down in front of her, even when he sat down he was almost as tall as her.
"Luke why are you doing this?" She asked quietly, afraid to upset him by speaking. But he just frowned as if he had a puzzle in front of him and couldn't solve it, he didn't seem angry, he just seemed confused.
"Calum isn't here." He said trying to change the topic, and frowned a bit more.
Tris sighed, "I know that Luke, I'm not an idiot." Luke's head snapped up and he looked at her in straight in the eye, with almost a glimmer of hope for some reason and a smile creeped up onto his face.
He moved a little closer to Tris and crossed his long legs, "Did you, um, come here to see me?"
Tris could see he wanted her to say yes, he wanted her to tell him that she came to see him and only him. And nothing could scare her more than that thought, the thought that Luke might be doing all of this because he might see her in way she would never want. But what scared her more was what would happen if she didn't give him the answer he wanted. She looked down at her lap and bit her lip, she had to lie to protect herself, but what could this lie cost? Her life?
"Yes, I wanted to see you." She lied through gritted teeth, thankfully Luke couldn't see. Tris felt sick, she wanted to cry, she wanted to run as far away as she possible could but how the hell could she? The bastard had her tied up to a chair and god knows what he had on him, he threatened her with a knife before, no one could guess what else he had in this room.
She looked up at Luke and saw him smiling at her, and it made her feel horrible. "Why?" He asked.
"I don't know," She said with a shrug, Luke frowned at her response however, which sent shivers down Tris's spine. He moved away from her a little bit, but before he could do anything else she stopped him, "I just needed to see you... hear your voice." She swallowed hard and waited for a reaction, she studied his face and saw it calm within in seconds. Maybe lying about how she feels might get her out of here.
Luke placed his hand on her thigh, "I'm right here Doll," He said smiling, and slowly stood up and to her utter surprise, started to untie her. "I'm right here and not going anywhere." He whispered sweetly. Well at least to him he probably thought he was being sweet, but to Tris, nothing scared her more.
