"I hope she'll be a fool -- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool."
Tris hadn't put down The Great Gatsby since she got back to her room, and she was sure Lola wouldn't like the fact she had highlighted many quotes in the book, but she couldn't help it. Some were so beautiful, so far that one was her favourite. She quickly pulled out her yellow highlighter and slowly started to run the pen over the page, she also heard the sound of the door being opened. It could only be Lola because now all the students had their keys, and thankfully it was. Tris set the book down on her pillow and crossed her legs, smiling at her roommate as she walked in the room.
"Gosh, you'd think that having a week before lessons would mean having a week before teachers, but no." Lola huffed and threw herself on Tris's bunk, dangling her legs over Tris's. She pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to her, "It's your timetable, Mr. Kyle told me to give it to you."
"Mr. Kyle?" Tris asked, taking the paper and moved her book before adjusting her pillow to be comfortable.
"English teacher." Lola stated, holding her index finger up, "But I also have this." She reached into her pocket, and pulled out a small metal object. "This belongs to your nerdy looking friend, August isn't it?"
She handed Tris the object, Tris noticed August's name scribbled onto it. "Yeah."
"Well he'll probably want it back, I found it when I went for a jog on the hiking track this morning. Speaking of which," Lola smiled and sat up a little bit, taking her legs off of Tris's and crossing them. "How did your walk go with him?"
"I don't know, I got lost." Tris had totally forgot about the whole situation that had happened yesterday, after she had ran into that boy Luke, she just went back to her dorm. Not bothering to find August, she knew if he wanted to find her, he would. Plus she was a bit angry at him for just leaving her, and in all honesty she just wanted to read her book.
"Aw babe c'mon, I need details!" Lola was a typical girl, blonde hair, big blue eyes, and curves in all the right places. Everything Tris wasn't, especially when it came to the way she spoke, Lola always seemed to being calling people babe or darling or love.
"There's nothing to say, really. He took me into the woods, I got left behind and ran into some tree hugger." Tris shrugged her shoulders as if it were nothing, but she could see in Lola's eyes she thought it meant more than just nothing.
"Tree hugger?" Lola raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know, some guy called Luke was sitting in a tree." Tris shrugged again and frowned, she hated to talk about stupid things, she really did.
"Wait, Luke Hemmings?" Lola asked, sitting forward a little bit.
"Yeah?"
"Holy shit," Lola's mouth was agape and she slapped her knees with her palms, "He's so fucking hot!" She exclaimed and smirked, nudging Tris in the arm.
"I guess he's okay." Tris pouted and stood up off of the bed, shoving August's metal object in her pocket. She didn't feel like talking about Luke's looks at the moment, so she decided to go visit August to give him back his thing. "I'mjust going to see August, I'll be back in a sec." She smiled at Lola and quickly darted out the room.
It was night time right now, so it was freezing and everyone was getting ready to head back to their dorms before curfew, it was already at least seven o'clock. Tris dug her hands in the pockets of her jumper as she walked across the courtyard, it was covered in cement, except for two patches of grass that were in the middle of the yard, but it was nothing that could be looked after, it was practically dirt anyways.
