The group stepped through the pink portal. With the blink of an eye, their environment shifted. The tall stuffy bookshelves were replaced with rolling hills. The grass a spring green adorned with little white flowers. The landscape carved by rivers running in pale green water, which strongly smelled of jasmine. But all that was normal compared to the inhabitants of the meadow. As far as the eye could see car-sized cats and kittens were sprinkled in the field.
Marco looked around. "Where are we?"
"The land of tea and kittens" Pony Head explained as Star stood next to her paralysed with excitement.
"Why is it called that?"
"Well, it's obvious. Giant kittens inhabit the land and rivers run in sweet tea."
"Tea? That explains the colour of the water," Marco frowned.
"I always wanted to visit this dimension," Star whispered, barely containing her excitement.
Pony Head smirked. "I know. That's why I brought you here."
Excitedly Star hugged the unicorn. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are the best." The girl gushed out.
"Anything for my besty." Pony head smiled.
"Don't get it. What's so great about this place," Marco muttered looking around unimpressed.
Star seemed a bit dump founded by the brunettes remark. "What is so...? Well to start, there is an endless supply of sweet tea. And, most importantly," Star raised her hands and waved them all around. "You can pet and play with giant kittens!"
Marco sighed. "Yeah, I anticipated something more hardcore. Maybe a dimension of gladiators or something like that. But I should've expected this travelling with two fancy pants princesses."
"Sorry, Marco if you aren't having fun." Star looked at the ground.
"Don't apologise to the earth kid," Pony Head said annoyed, "This is a trip for you. If he is so bored, let him go looking for adventure himself. Or if he wants, I can send him home."
Marco frowned. He was ready to throw a snappy retort at Pony Head but stopped. Star's face looked sad and apologetic. "Sorry, I'm being an ass. I don't know..." The boy glanced to the side shoving his hands into his hoodie's pockets. The feelings of guilt were written all over Marco's face. "Suggestions for anything fun to do?"
"Go wrestle a cat or something. I don't know what you're kind finds thrilling," Pony Head retorted.
"I'll do that," Marco muttered. "You two have fun. I won't bother you." Marco waved bye. He took a deep breath, determined to have fun.
Marco dashed to the closest kitten. He challenged the animal in the most badass way one could challenge a giant cat. The black and white kitty looked at Marco and then meowed at the boy in a quizzical manner. The brunet taking that as an acceptance of the challenge tackled the fluffy beast.
Pony head and star stared at Marco wrestling the cat, Pony Head amuse Star terrified.
"Is he going to be fine?" Star asked.
Happy laughter echoed as the attack turned into play fighting.
"I think he will be fine," Pony Head laughed. "At least that kid is good for a chuckle. Come on let's go set up somewhere nice." Pony Head floated closer to one of the tea rivers.
"Let us do that," Star muttered staring at Marco playing with the cat.
Pony head smirked, reading her friend perfectly, "Hey..."
