Most flying wyverns were lithely muscled, their bodies aerodynamic so as to ease flying. Most of their muscle was concentrated in their legs to help propel themselves into the air. But not Rathalos. He was burly and his wings heavily muscled from years of forging weapons for monsters.

"Hi there!" he called. "I heard that you're the humans who can turn 'to monsters. That true?"

"Yeah," Martin replied.

"Mizutsune told us that you had a wife and kids," said Chris. "We were wondering if we could-"

"Of course! I'll have to ask Rathian first, though."

--------------------------------------------------

Martin played with a yo-yo. The smithy's business hours were long over and Rathalos had gone off to bring his wife and children to see them.

A female fire wyvern, along with a small group of eight young wyverns, walked in through the back door with Rathalos. One of the young wyverns pointed at Martin and looked up at its mother. It asked a question in Wyvernian. Martin was still not very fluent in the language, but he was familiar enough with it to piece together what the child was saying. It was something along the lines of "Mommy, are those humans?"

Rathian's face flushed red and she quickly apologized, while quietly explaining to her child that it was rude to say something like that.

One of the young wyverns bounded up to Aviva and started speaking in very broken Spanish. Aviva seemed more than happy to converse with the little monster.

Martin waved at Rathian. "Hi!"

She nodded back. "Hello." She spoke with the same heavy accent as all the other monsters here.

"What are their names?" asked Chris.

Rathalos looked on his children with pride. "My children, from eldest to youngest, are Ddraig, Supaka, Hanabi, Kazan, Draco, Vulkan, Tarkan, and Brann."

Zach grinned as he watched through the disguised robot's eyes. He had been trying for the past weeks to come up with a plan to use the monsters. The adult monsters were too powerful and dangerous, but these eight young ones...

"We'll split them evenly," said Paisley. "I'll take two, Zach takes two, Donita gets two, and Gourmand gets two."

Gourmand licked his lips. "I wonder what wyverns taste like."

Donita pulled out a notepad and started sketching out designs, probably something about the baby wyverns being hats or something.
