Chapter 5: Distance

Few weeks have passed, but no one has seen Y/N that often. When they did she would only greet them then say, 'Sorry I'm busy, I have a meeting with someone.' Which was partly true. Y/N sometimes head to the training ground where Guy sensei's team trains. Rock Lee helps Y/N train, he helps motivate her to keep moving forward and getting stronger. Neji would listen to her ramble on about random things, even though he doesn't pay attention to most things. Tenten and Y/N always compare their weapons to each other.

(Y/N) "And then he said 'a monkey? I thought he was my brother.'"

(Lee) "That is an amusing joke, Y/N!"

(Tenten) "It's getting late, we should go home."

(Neji) "That means you too Y/N."

(Y/N) "What do you mean by that?"

(Neji) "You've been avoiding home."

(Lee) "Is the reason, has to do something with your father?"

(Y/N) You hesitated, "Yeah, he became extremely strict."

(Tenten) "You have to face him one of these days."

(Y/N) "I know."

The group said their farewell, Y/N walked through the village before going home. That's when she bumped into Shikamaru. Y/N greet him with a smile and try to excuse herself.

(Shikamaru) "Hold on Y/N, we need to talk."

(Y/N) "Ok, what do you want to talk about?"

(Shikamaru) "Some of us are worried about you, especially Choji." He chuckled.

(Y/N) "Why is that?"

(Shikamaru) "You are distancing yourself..."

(Y/N) "Sorry, I was a little busy."

(Shikamaru) :whisper: "What a drag..." "I'm not really good with this, but you can always talk to one of us if you need help or..."

(Y/N) "It's fine really. I heard you guys are entering the Chunin exam. I'll see you there then."

(Shikamaru) "You will?"

(Y/N) "Yeah, I'm helping out. See ya."

(Shikamaru) "Yeah, ok. But seriously, we're always here if you need someone."

(Y/N) "Yeah." You said while walking away.

Y/N finally got home. She entered through the kitchen to avoid Akemi and her father. She passed through the living room and quietly tried to go to her room. Her father's office was across from her room. Then Y/N heard some whispers and eavesdrop into the conversation.

(Takeshi) "How many times did she go chaotic with her chakra this week?"

(Akemi) "Twice, sir."

(Takeshi) "She may have calmed down now, but I still believe she is dangerous."

(Akemi) "If I may speak my mind, sir. It was the bandits who injured and killed Lady Kaneko. Miss Y/N has nothing to do with this, this time."

(Takeshi) "As far as some people, including I know, she is a monster first. It was because of her that my wife and mother are dead."

(Y/N) :whisper: "A monster..." :thinks: *Here we go again...*

(Akemi) "Sir, it was your wife who tried to protect Miss Y/N. Plus, she was only four."

(Takeshi) "Are you saying that my wife took her own life!!"

(Akemi) "No sir. It's just... any mother will do anything to protect their child..."
