Chapter 14: Ground Zero

(Y/N) "Earth Style: Earth Pistol!" You place your hand on the ground. Multiple dirt bullets were shooting towards the enemy.
(Kazan) "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" Couple fireballs surrounded the enemy.
(Y/N) "Earth Style: Iron Prison." An earth dome traps the enemy. "All right, let's go." You were out of breath.
(Enkai) "This is the second attack today." He gave you a canteen of water.
(Y/N) "Thanks."

The team traveled to the Land of Waves and crossed the Great Naruto Bridge. They stayed in the town Enkai wanted to visit for a few days. The team went back to the Bridge because Kazan wanted to buy certain food. After crossing back to town, they were ambushed by a rogue ninja.
(Tenpi) He stood by the barrier, "Were you sent by Lord Kaneko of the Leaf?"
(Enemy) "I ain't tellin you nothin!"
(Tenpi) "He doesn't know anything. Just another mindless puppet."
(Enemy) "I ain't no puppet! C'mon in here and say that to my face, Coward!" He punched the barrier trying to escape.
(Tenpi) A vein pop. "He is a twit." He stuck his tongue out.
(Y/N) "Woah, I never thought you had emotions, Tenpi." You said in shock.
(Enkai) "Neither did I." He sat down next to you. "I guess it's because he was called a Coward."
(Y/N) "So, calling him names is what ticks him off. Noted."
(Tenpi) He glared at his team, "You don't dare to use foul language against me." Both you and Enkai gulped and quickly shook their heads.
(Kazan) "We may not get an answer out of him." He threw something towards you. "Here, take this."
(Y/N) "A mask. Where did you get this?" It looked like an Anbu mask.
(Kazan) "I took his bag. There's a lot of valuables here. Maybe I can sell them."
(Enemy) "Hey! Don't you dare touch my stuff! They're mine!" The enemy roared.
(Tenpi) "Every question you answer, we'll leave an item behind."
(Enemy) "How will I know you're tellin the truth, eh?"
(Y/N) You walk over to Kazan and snatch the bag out of his hand. "We can only give you our word." You heard the enemy ‘tsk’. "My name is Y/N Kaneko. I'm at war against my father."
(Enemy) "Takeshi is your father, that messed up. But no, he didn't personally send me.”
(Y/N) "Why come after me if you weren't sent from Takeshi?"
(Enemy) "Ain't say'in."
(Y/N) "Alright, I'm only leaving this bracelet."
(Enemy) "No wait! Leave the necklace with the jade dragon on it." He screamed.
(Kazan) "Why, is it worth a lot!?" He jumped, grabbing the necklace.
(Y/N) "Give me that!" You snatch the necklace back. "Will you answer my previous question?" You heard a grunt. "Very well."
(Kazan) "C'mon." Kazan was upset that you switched the necklace for the bracelet.
(Y/N) "Let's go." You wore the mask.
(Enemy) "Wait!" He paused. "Ground Zero. That's all I’ll say." He panicked when he hadn't heard anything. The barrier broke. "Great. They left with- My necklace!" It was found hanging on a tree branch. Plus the rest of his stuff. *The only thing they took was the mask… and half of my money!* :sighs: "But still… Thank you, Y/N Kaneko." He held tightly to the necklace.

~In Shukuba Town (The town Enkai wanted to visit)~
(Kazan) "Why? We could’ve gotten some extra cash!" He dropped his head on the table.

They were in a restaurant.
(Y/N) "Just be glad I'm letting you keep the money." You took a sip of your drink. "Ground Zero. It sounds familiar, but I have no idea what it is."
(Enkai) "If Ground Zero was a way to target you, it might be similar to the Bingo Book."
(Tenpi) "You are correct." Everyone looks over at Tenpi.
(Kazan) "How would you know?"
(Tenpi) Tenpi stared into his drink. “Ground Zero was created similar to the Bingo book. However, it’s operated differently.”
(Kazan) “How so?”
(Tenpi) “While the Bingo book is filled with criminals and rogue shinobis. Ground Zero can be filled with anyone.”
(Y/N) “Anyone? No question asked?”
(Enkai) “That means nobody’s safe. But, how was it created? How could the Nations approve this book?”
(Tenpi) “They didn't, because no one knew about it. There were rumors about such a book, but it stayed as a rumor. To have someone submitted into that book is already expensive. The process itself takes between a month to 2 years."
(Y/N) "And I'm in that book. Wonder how long Takashi plan this assassination."
(Enkai) "This means you can't show your face out in public. It'll be too dangerous."
(Y/N) "Which is why I have Kazan to thank for the mask."
(Kazan) "You are very much welcome." He showed a giant smug face.
(Tenpi) "That look doesn't suit you." Kazan growls in anger.
(Y/N) You put your mask back on. "I'm going for a walk. Catch you later." You left.
(Kazan) "How do you know this much about Ground Zero, if it isn't supposed to exist."
(Tenpi) "Because I know the person who created it."

~Somewhere else in Town~
(Y/N) "You seriously want me dead, don't you." :sighs: "Woah, I was so deep in thought I didn't notice I left town. Huh?" You jumped back. You dodge a Kunai Knife. A Shinobi appeared in front of you, who looked like an Anbu.
(Anbu) "Where did you get that mask!" He's ready to fight.
(Y/N) "I found it." You slowly backed away.
(Anbu) "I'm going to need it back."
(Y/N) "You already have one. Plus, founder keepers."
(Anbu) "It belongs to a friend." He calmly explained. The Anbu lowered his weapon. "We don't need to fight, just give me the mask."
(Y/N) "What about a trade, your mask for this one. I do need one."
(Anbu) "Not a chance.
(Y/N) "Then you won't take my mask." You started running away. However, you knew you wouldn't get away easily.
~~~
:Y/N's thoughts: *Can't believe I managed to steal his mask!* You were running through town trying to escape the Anbu. *If only I can find a hiding spot. I can take off my cloak and mask then blend in with the crowd.*
:Anbu thoughts: He was pretty far away. *I can't believe that kid took my mask! I only wanted Captain Kakashi's mask back.*
(Y/N) Lightbulb! "I got it!" You did a sharp turn, remember the direction of the nearest Hot Spring.

Y/N immediately entered the building. The Anbu, on the other hand, stopped outside of the building.
(Anbu) "If this kid is a girl, it might be a problem. I can't really barge in there. They might take the wrong idea and call me a pervert. If the kid is a boy however…"

While the Anbu was debating about entering, Y/N entered the supplies room. She 'borrowed' a bag to hide her cloak and masks. Then swiftly rushed through the back of the building to exit. She looked around to be certain the Anbu wasn't around.
(Y/N) "Seems the coast is clear." You hurriedly left the premises, "Score. Now I have two mask- Oof!" You bumped into someone.
(???) "Hey watch where you're… Y/N?"
(Y/N) "No way!"
