Chapter 2: The Promise

Akemi finally arrived at the park and called for Y/N. Akemi explained to Y/N that she is needed in the Hokage's office. Y/N said her farewells to her friends and followed Akemi to the Hokage's office. When Y/N arrived, the third Hokage said that he wanted to speak with her alone, so Akemi left the room.

(Y/N) "Am I in trouble." you ask.

(Hokage) "On the contrary, I've heard that you have been training by yourself in secret."

(Y/N) "You won't tell my father, will you!?"

(Hokage) He chuckled. "Do not worry my child. My sources say that you are quite skillful for your age."

(Y/N) "I am?"

(Hokage) "Indeed. I would like to put you through a test."

(Y/N) "What kind of test?"

(Hokage) "Would you like to become a ninja?" He smiled.

(Y/N) "Would I! Yes!" You jumped. "Wait, but my father..."

(Hokage) "I will speak with him." He got up. "Follow me."

The both of them went to a small training ground, an Anbu Black Ops was waiting there. The Hokage explained that Y/N and the Anbu will go on a one on one fight.

(Y/N) "What!? How skillful does your source think I am? I know I'm improving, but I'm not that good to go against an Anbu! I'm only 8!"

(Hokage) "Few students in your age are stronger than some of the Anbu."

(Y/N) "Sure, but I don't think I'm one of them."

(Anbu) "But with proper training, you may surpass me. I was the source that told Lord Hokage about you."

(Y/N) "You were spying on me? What a creep."

(Anbu) He jumped and turned his arms into a 'X'. "Hey! I was only admiring your determination, for the past few months"

(Y/N) "Months, you perv."

(Anbu) "Wait no I'm not a pervert..."

(Y/N) "You were stalking a little girl for months."

(Anbu) "Hey I..."

(Hokage) "Let us move on."

(Anbu) He straightened himself up. "Of course Lord Hokage." 

The Anbu and Y/N prepared to fight each other. Y/N have done well with defence and better with attack. It was clear that she knew how to strategize, when to attack and when to stay back. It was also clear that her skills were on a chunin level. What the Anbu finds odd about Y/N, is that she smiles through the entire fight. Even when she got hit a few times. After the duel, Lord Hokage said he was going to speak with Y/N's father, help her to become a ninja. He left the Anbu with Y/N, and told him to take her home.

(Anbu) "Ok, lets go."

(Y/N) "What's your name anyway?"

(Anbu) "My name? I guess I can tell you since I'm dropping out of the Anbu Black Ops."

(Y/N) "You are why."

(Anbu) "I have friends who are worried about me. I believe sooner or later the Third Lord Hokage will tell me to drop out, and take better care of myself."

(Y/N) "Uhh..."

(Anbu) "Sorry, too much info? I just started talking to myself."

(Y/N) "It's fine, I let people talk about themself all the time. It helps them take out stress and anger they have been bottling up."
