Chapter 14

After a couple hours of sleep has passed, Megamind and Roxanne then woke up from their nap, while still wrapped up in each other's embrace.

With both of them, smiling, and happy to be away from their troubles.

"Hey" Megamind whispered first while caressing her cheek, softly.

"Hey" Roxanne replied back with a smile, with her hand holding onto his. 

"How was your sleep?" Megamind asked her.

"Way better and much more refreshing, if you asked me." Roxanne said with a beautiful genuine smile that could make the whole room fill with butterflies.

Which had caused both of their hearts to beat rapidly fast as Megamind mirrored her response with his own warming expression.

That is, until an expected question has popped up into the conversation.

"So....what was it that you were going to ask me?" Roxanne suddenly asked that had now changed the mood, instantly.

"What do you mean?" Megamind said, confused.

"Earlier, you said that you were going to ask me something, but suddenly stopped yourself from doing so. Why?" Roxanne asked.

"Well I...sigh. just didn't think that it was a good time to tell you, that's all." Megamind answered quietly, looking away.

"Well, we're both here alone, so why not talk about it now?" Roxanne insisted with her hand cupped to his cheek.

"Roxanne, you don't understand. It's about something very important that has to come at the right moment. Otherwise....what's the point of even asking." Megamind explained as Roxanne nodded her head in understanding and decided to drop the topic, altogether.

"Okay then, I won't push the subject over, anymore. But, promise me that you'll talk about it when you feel the need to tell me, alright?" Roxanne asked.

"I promise." Megamind said with a half smile as the two got up from the mattress and stretched out their limbs for a bit.

Before sharing a loving kiss to the lips.

As they walked over to the lab area and talked for a bit while waiting for Minion's return.

That is, until Roxanne's phone started to buzz interruption.

"Oh, hold on one second. My mother is calling me. She probably been worried sick since, she heard the news about my apartment. I better take this." Roxanne urged on as she pulls out her phone from her pocket.

"Sure. Go ahead" Megamind said as Roxanne walks over to a distant corner to talk privately.

Just in case her mother gets any wild accusations about them.

"Hi mom." Roxanne states over the phone in answering.

"Oh darling, it's so good to hear your voice. Your father and I had just watched the news last night. Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" Rachel Ritchi asked frantically in worry.

"Don't worry mom, I'm okay. He was able to get me out of there, in time." Roxanne explained, reassuring her mother of her worries.

"Oh, what a relief that's been. Was it Metro Man that came by to your rescue, honey? Because if so, then I would be so thrilled to hear that. I knew that someday you two would finally get toget..." Rachel was going to say until she was interrupted by Roxanne's confusion.

"What?! No, mom. It was Megamind who saved me, not him." Roxanne corrected, shaking her head from of all of the confusion she was giving her.

"Megamind? Oh honey, I don't know about that fellow. Wasn't he the one, who always tries to kidnap you?" Rachel asked in a much concerning tone.
