Meanwhile, Megamind and Roxanne, who were about 2 minutes away from the lair, were driving towards the abandoned road of the area.

When all of a sudden, Megamind flinched back in a startle.

Which would certainly give anybody worry.

"Hey, are you okay?" Roxanne asked, placing her hand on his shoulder.

"Something's not right." Megamind mumbled while fidgeting his hands on the sterling wheel.

"Why, what's wrong?" Roxanne asked in concern.

"I don't think we're alone." Megamind spoke quietly, in a nervous tone.

"What do you mean?...oh no." Roxanne was going to ask in confusion before the two then drove up to the top hill of the lair and saw that it was in the mist of a enormous, blazing fire.

"He's here." Megamind mumbled, gritting his teeth, angrily once he saw that Hal was standing in front of the secret entrance way with Minion, whose robotic arm was crushed and grappled onto.

With his glass dome, cracked and almost shattered into pieces.

Which would be bad since water was his only way to breathe.

So Megamind has to be extremely careful with his next move.

Before things get more out of hand than they need to be.

"Megamind! Come out wherever you are. I have your little friend here so you better not keep me waiting too long." Hal warned, knowing that they were around somewhere nearby, based off of heat presence that was detected through his powers.

It was then, that Megamind decided to change plans, hoping that Minion and Roxanne can carry out the rest of it on their own.

"Stay in the car. I'll deal with him myself." Megamind said while quickly moving out of the car and shuts the door behind him.

Right before he then 'baby locks' all side doors of the invisible vehicle so that Roxanne couldn't get out.

Which would help keep her safe as well.

"Wha...hey! What are you doing?!" Roxanne asked in panic while constantly pulling at the door handle that still remained locked and secured.

"Paying for my mistakes. And I'm not about to lose the only people that I have left in this world just because of them. I'll make sure to get him as far away as possible so that you and Minion can both escape. Then when you have the chance, use the defuser and take away his powers. I'm counting on you guys to do that for me. In case I don't ever make it back, I just want you to know that I...I love you Roxanne. I always have, since the very first day that I met you during our first interaction with Metro Man in the city. I adored you so much that I wanted to find the right time to take your hand and ask you to marry me. But now....we're all stuck in this whole messy, disaster so....I guess this means goodbye." Megamind said with a sad smile as Roxanne's face immediately paled up and dropped to a frozen, horrified shock.

All this time...

He was avoiding not just an ordinary question.

But 'the question'.

One that she wished he would have just told her anyways, regardless of their situation.

Because then she would have said yes, indefinitely.

"Goodbye Roxanne." Megamind said before turning away, which quickly woke up Roxanne from her shock and started to ram at the car door window.

Begging for him not to go.
