Hange, Adira, Mia, Nyla and a bunch of others all walk down the roads in the centre of the town. It amazed Adira, she usually stayed inside or in the training fields when she was with the Garrison, so she never got to experience the city like this. Nyla and Hange both point out different stores and booths that they would love to take Adira to.
The girls eventually stop at a posh little boutique that resided at a corner. Adira didn't know what to think of the bright pink curtains that adorned the windows of the shop. She could see more of the wealthy people leave the shop while a few others enter.
"Are you sure this is the right place?" Adira nudges Hange while staring at the shop.
"Oh hush, it is. Now let's go." Hange grabs Adira's hand and pulls her through the entrance of the shop. Adira puts up a little resistance and Mia had to shove her from behind.
"I'll go with Mia, Hange is with Adira," Nyla states while walking off with Mia to the other side of the store.
"Don't leave me with her please-" Adira didn't know if she was more scared of Hange or a titan.
Hange snickers at her plea and yanks her arm towards some of the shorter dresses.
"What do you think of short dresses?" Hange pulls out different bright coloured dresses from the racks and puts them against Adira.
Adira shakes her head and flicks through the rack in front of her. "I don't know," Adira watches Hange pull out a bright piss-coloured dress and stares at it. She quickly takes it from her hands and puts it back onto the rack. Adira shakes her head and smiles. "Let's stick to another colour."
"Hange, you go look over there for dresses for you, I'll go over here," Adira suggests. Hange nods and gives her a thumbs-up before walking away. Adira looked through many different styled dresses but nothing stuck out to her. She lets out a groan and heads towards her friends that stood at the cash register.
Nyla and Mia both notice Adira's empty hands and frown.
"Nothing?" Mia asks. Adira shakes her head no.
"I couldn't find anything I like."
"The ball is in like four hours! We have to hurry and find you a dress!" Hange agrees with Nyla and pushes Adira towards another part of the store.
"What colour do you want?" Mia asks Adira to search through dresses.
Adira thinks. "What about grey?" She wonders.
"That could work," Hange mumbles grabbing a worker to help them.
Levi hesitantly walks through the shop's doors and spots the girls. He walks over to them and sits down in one of the waiting chairs with a plastic bag at his feet.
"What's in the bag, Captain?" Nyla asks throwing a grey dress at Adira.
"Tea." His one word makes Hange roll her eyes playfully and pushes Adira into the change room with a few dresses.
Adira tries them on and didn't hate them, they just didn't feel right, but she didn't want to waste the other's time trying to find her a dress. She walks out of the change room with a floor-length grey dress that had a sweetheart neckline and lace that covered the bodice.
The girls all didn't enjoy the dress and push Adira back into the dressing room. That was the last dress they picked out for her, so now they were out of options.
Levi was getting agitated at how long they were taking. He stands up and skims the racks in the back of the store that the girls missed. He picks out a dark red, floor-length dress. The girls watch him walk over to the change room and push the dress over the top of the door for Adira to grab. Adira lets out a sigh and Levi sits back down in his chair. Hange watches with a huge smirk while the others don't know what's happening. After a minute of silence from Adira, she walks out in the dress Levi gave her. A square neckline, a few layers and a thigh slit.
The girl's eyes light up with joy. They've found the dress, and Levi surprisingly had good taste. He watches Adira walk out and feels his face flush. He looks away and grabs his bag before leaving.
"What's his problem?" Adira asks looking in the mirror. Hange shrugs with a smile.
Adira goes back into the changing room and takes off the dress carefully before handing it to Hange so they could pay for it.
Hange could already tell that the ball is going to be interesting.
They pay for the dress and head out. "I can't wait! This is going to be amazing." Hange says looking at the sky.
Adira smiles. "Yeah, it is."
