Chapter 12

The carriage ride to Wall Sina was deafening. Most of the girls going piled into one carriage while the others were separated into the two other carriages. Hange was pushed up against Adira who was sitting next to the door. Nyla and Mia managed to fit in beside them while Petra and a few others Adira didn't know sat across from them.

Petra wore a short yellow dress with her hair pinned back by a white pin. Nyla and Mia wore matching dress designs with different colours with their hairs in up doo's. Adira wore the same red dress from the shop that Levi picked out for her. Her hair was curled and Hange forced Adira to wear some light makeup. Hange was the only one in the carriage that wore a suit, she said it was more comfortable and that she never liked dresses.

"I can't wait to dance with all the hot guys," Nyla gushes. Her face was filled with an evil glint and readjusted her dress. "Maybe I'll find a boyfriend." She drawls. Mia looks over to Nyla with a bored look on her face.

"You say this every time we go somewhere and then complain about how there are no hot guys and that you're going to stay single," Mia responds looking out the other window. Nyla's face goes red in embarrassment and the other's laugh. Nyla had always been boy-obsessed, even when Adira, her and Mia were little.

Hange slouches in her seat with her hands behind her head. "Don't get your hopes up, the people there are not people who you'd want to date." Adira glances at Hange curiously.

"You've dated a person?" She asks.

Hange's eyes widen in surprise. "Of course, I've dated people. Never lasted long though." Hange grumbles.

"I thought you would have been engaged to a titan by now." Adira hums trying not to laugh at Hange's expression.

Hange glares at Adira before laughing. Adira looks out the window and watches people dressed in expensive clothing walk down the side of the road.

"This is going to be interesting," Petra says after a while of silence from in the carriage. "I can't wait to eat the food, I heard it is supposed to be really good," Petra says looking at the girls.

Adira's stomach rumbles at the thought of food, she had learned during training during her upbringing to reduce her intake of food. Hange laughs at the sounds and watches the scenery from the window.

Everyone jolts forward as the carriage comes to a halt. Hange lets out a groan and rubs the back of her head.

"Stupid." She mumbles under her breath. Adira looks out the window again. The door opens and the girls start to slide out of the carriage. Hange could see Erwin and Levi waiting by the front of their carriage for them. She lets out a wave and helps Adira get out of the carriage.

"Thank you." Hange smiles at Adira. The other people going all left to head inside, which left Erwin, Hange, Levi, Adira and Mike.

"Let's go," Erwin says. The group follows behind him silently and walks through the large doors. Hange pulls Adira aside to where the females stood.

"I'm going to go get us a drink! I'll be back." Hange states leaving Adira alone. Adira looks around the room, she could see Nyla dancing with someone and Mia standing by the food section with Petra.

A tall man came up to Adira and gave her a smirk. She was already disgusted. He held out his hand and motioned towards the danced floor.

"No," Adira says turning and walking away from the man. He scowls at her and walks away.

After another request from a man, Hange finally came back with the drinks.

"What took you so long?" Adira grunts taking a drink. Hange shrugs her shoulders.

"Just finishing some things, talking to people, stuff like that." Adira squints her eyes, Hange was hiding something but dropped it. While Adira was left alone, Hange went to find Levi and gave him a dark red tie. He refused at first but eventually put it on

"Are you going to dance with someone?" Adira asks Hange.

"Probably not." She responds taking a drink. Hange glanced at a quiet Adira and waited.

The two stood to the side of the dance floor as a slow melody filled the air. Levi stood at the other side of the room with Erwin and other higher-ups, his hands were sweaty which was a first. He was going to do it. He walked over towards Adira and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned her head from a grinning Hange and met his eyes. His breath caught in his throat as he really got a look at her. Of course, that piece of shit gave him a matching tie with Adira's dress. But that was beside the point, she didn't look at shitty as he originally thought.

Levi held out his hand. "Let's dance."
