Adira came out of the small restroom in her pajamas. By the time Adira took a quick shower, Levi had already changed into his nightwear and cleaned the room as it was 'disgustingly filthy'.

Levi glanced up at her from a book Adira packed to pass time and quickly looked back down. She wore a plain tank top and pale blue silk bottoms. He thought that she looked good but tried to focus back on the book.

It was around eleven at night and everyone else was situated in their rooms. It was not quiet here, unlike the survey headquarters. You could hear muffled voices down the hall, most likely drunk soldiers coming back from the bar.

Adira sat down on her side of the bed and gently pulled her hair out of the pony. She rubbed her scalp and grabbed the comb she left on the bed side table and started to brush. Her hair was full of knots and Levi could hear the small grunts from her trying not to yank out her hair.

"Give me that." He says rolling his eyes as he takes the comb from her hand. She looks over her shoulder at him and he narrows his eyes. She puts her hands up and turns her body back around. He grabs a chunk of her hair and slowly works through the knots with the comb. Section by section until her hair was smooth.

"Thank you." She says. She really didn't need his help but she won't deny that she liked it. She turns back around to face him. "Want to brush your hair?" She says jokingly.

"The fuck?" He asks. Adira shakes her head and grabs his head and places it on her lap. "Get your hands off me-" She places a pillow over his mouth to shut him up and gently works her way through his hair. Levi finally stops grumbling under his breath and closes his eyes and she gently plays with his hair. It was an intimate gesture but he didn't mind. She could do this anyday.

Adira suddenly stands up and drops Levi's head out of her lap. He gives her a death glare and frowns, shifting back over to his spot. She blows out the candles across the room, only leaving the two that are on either side of the bed.

They both blow out the remaining candles and lay back down on the bed awkwardly. They both were silent, Levi could hear his heart beating.

"Why did you join the Survey Corps?" Levin blurts. Way to go, he thought to himself. He hears Adira exhale then the shift of her body. He looks over to her side and can barely see her outline the darkness.

"I've been training for it since I was a child. I don't know what I would have done if I chose something else. The Survey Corps is all I know." She replies in a soft tone.

"You said you were forced to join?" She asks back. Levi tenses and shuts his eyes before reopening them. "I'm sorry, you don't need to answer that." Adira whispers.

"It's fine. I lived with two others in the underground as thieves. One day we were caught by none other than Erwin. We were given a job to kill him and steal documents. It was either being taken by the Military police or joining them, so we did, which helped us with the job. After the expedition, they were killed and Erwin knew all along."

What the fuck was Adira supposed to say after that? "Damn." She mumbles. Levi snorts and looks over to her.

"Isabel and Farlan, my friends, they would have liked you." He says.

"I would have liked to meet them." She replies with a small smile. She turns back onto her back and looks up at the ceiling.

They both don't say anything, just basking in the comfortable silence. Levi could hear her breaths even out and small muscle jerks once in a while. They were so close and Levi stayed still on his side. He could feel her body heat and hated it. He felt like a creep.

He turns over onto his side, his back facing Adira and closes his eyes. He couldn't wait to leave this filthy room and head back where he could get a proper cup of tea, preferably made by Adira. She is such a pain in his ass.
