Atherelle's POV

Disgust

[You already know my response] he said after minutes of silence [Alam kong hindi ka manhid para hindi malaman na gusto kita.]

A sad smile crept on my lips. I don't know what to say to him. He is too. So, what now? We're just strangers and we'll obviously leave it all at that. We aren't allowed to meet each other yet, so I know we'll wait for that time to come.

[It's almost midnight, you should--]

"I will cut the engagement off." pigil ko sakaniya "I was just too late. My parents can't say no to them because it's already planned. So, we let this happen and maybe next month... I will cut this off." sabi ko.

[Tell me you'll do that to yourself as well, and not just because of me]

"This is my decision. This is for me also." for you, for us.

I decided to go home after talking to him. I just messaged my parents that I'm already at home. I still cared and knowing that he's worrying about me made me feel guilty, kaya naman tinawagan ko siya at nanghingi ng tawad pagkauwi ko.

The days went on well.

"Ms. Alzano, the Dean wants you in his office." anunsyo ng professor namin matapos ang klase.

Clarissa then looked at me, confused. I just shrugged. I don't know why the Dean wants to talk to me though. I greeted the old Dean politely as he signaled me to sit down.

"Atherelle Zedi Alzano?" he asked for confirmation.

"Yes, po."

He's scanning through the MacBook and then faces me with his delightful smile.

"Your Dad asked me to monitor you and you excelled high. You're one of BSBA's candidates for Magna Cum Laude." he directly said.

My heart is full of gratitude. I want to cry out loud right here. My hard works are all worth it. My struggles have been paid off. This is what I am aiming for. At Ngayon abot kamay ko na ito.

"But you need to maintain your grades. May next year pa, and it will reflect your records."

"Yes, Dean. I will take note of that." puno ng galak kong sambit.

He dismissed me after that talk.

"Oh, my God! Congrats," she exclaimed as she hugs me tight.

I know I still have more fights to face but I will continue to study harder and trust myself more to finally get what the Dean said.

"Tutored by Mr. Ezran 'yan, e," Clarissa said, sounding teasing me.

Kumunot ang noo kong binalingan siya. Ano na namang pinagsasabi nito? She's maybe daydreaming of unrealistic guy again.

"You know what? You should stop daydreaming." I hissed.

"Ano ka ba? Ang talino mo tapos mahina ka sa mga guessing." she tutted "Eztri, Zed," malakas niyang sigaw "'Ez' maybe his name and 'Tri' maybe his surname, right?"

Ngumiwi ako "Bakit, Ezran?"

"Gawa gawa ko ang Ran." she laughed "Tapos 'Tri'. Ano..." she pouted and thought of words to complete the surname. "'Tri'... Trial card ka lang." she laughs out loud.
