Mommy invited me a dinner at home. I agreed just out of respect for them. Maaga akong nagpunta roon para magtingin-tingin sa bahay. It's been years, and I haven't visited here. Though nothing have changed; the furniture, everything. Pati sa kwarto ko ay ganoon pa rin ang ayos. Naiiba lang ang kumot at unan pero ang mga gamit ay hindi naiba ang ayos.
After I checked everything in my room, I opened the double doors way to the balcony. Just like inside my room, the things are still there. Kahit itong fairy lights nga ay naroon pa rin. I tried turning them on pero dahil sa tagal na nito ay hindi na umiilaw.
My heart heaved as I scan everything there. This is the place that witnessed how I started changing myself, how I started changing my perspectives just because I met Gaviel. This is the place that witnessed everything about us in the past. Nakakatuwa lang na sa kahit ilang taon na ang nagdaan ay maayos pa rin ang lahat dito.
Minutes passed and the housemaid called me for dinner. They are now complete the moment I went downstairs. I will be back in the U.S. tomorrow the reason why my friends are here: is Obiennas and the Evos.
"Pahabain mo kaya bangs mo, Clarissa." I heard Lyle said.
"Sapakan nalang," Clarissa said as she showed his fist to Lyle as if giving him a threat through it.
Kaniya-kaniya sila ng usap pagkababa ko at ang unang narinig ko ay ang bangayan kaagad ni Lyle at Clarissa. I don't know which conversation I will listen to because each of them have their own topics that it sounded so noisy. I took a sit beside Gaviel who is obviously feeling so thorn by their noises.
"Your best friend is so loud," Gaviel said.
I look at Clarissa who is currently talking to her teammates in her so loud voice.
"Ganiyan na talaga 'yan." I said, laughing.
My parents arrived and that's when we all settled down. Napako ang tingin ni Mommy at Daddy kay Gaviel bago umupo. They already know my friends and Gaviel as my boyfriend, but I will still introduce each one of them formally. Daddy's eyes didn't leave Gaviel after I introduce him. Nagsimula na kaming kumain ay doon lang siya nagsalita.
"You are a dentist and a CEO if I am not mistaken?" ani Daddy na tinanguan ni Gaviel. "Trizon." he muttered slowly "I know a Trizon from Gutierez's company. How are you related to him?"
"He's my father," Gaviel answered him.
Daddy slowly chewed the food inside his mouth as he slowly nodded.
"Your Father is so full of himself. Arogante." Daddy said without a filter.
Ever since Daddy is so straightforward. I don't know what happened with them but Dad reacted this way. Knowing my father, he won't just drop a word if he did not see it in someone's personality.
"But I can see that you are opposite from your father." ani Daddy "You can't reach this high if you were like him." Daddy then looked at me and then at Gaviel. "Saan nga pala kayo nagkakilala nito ni Atherelle?" he asked, changing the text.
"We met in Mobile Legends, sir." Si Gaviel ang sumagot.
Daddy asked a lot of questions, so I explained everything to them. Nagugulohan kasi sila kaya halos umabot sa kalahating oras akong nag explain. Natigil lang iyon nang magtanong naman sila about sa gaming industry.
Listening to them like this made me smile. The people my parents are talking to were all professional players that their perception of being a pro player changed. Ngayon naintindihan na nila ito.
