Chapter 14

Atherelle's POV

Someone

"Anong oras daw 'yong pustahan mamaya?" Lyle asked Gasper.

We were done eating, but they are still talking kaya nakikinig lang ako. Gusto kong isandal ang likod ko pero walang sandalan ang upuan nila rito kaya itinukod ko nalang siko sa lamesa, nakatingin sa kahit saan.

"Ewan ko do'n kay Dave. Parang gago, nagpapapansin lang kay Atherelle 'yon, e. Wala sa tamang pag-iisip." Gasper hissed

"Pagkatapos ng klase raw. Sinabihan niya kami." Vince answered

I was bored. I am with the boys and I can't relate to them even when their topic is about the game. I just got to meet them and we're not that close yet.

"Sama ka, Zed?" Gasper asked me

I look up before shaking my head as an answer to him. Hindi ko alam saan 'yon 'tsaka baka maligaw pa ako. Hindi ko alam ang sakayan papunta sa kung saan man sila maglalaro.

"You can play. I will let you play one game so you won't get bored. And besides, you can relate to it." he said

I swallowed hard. I don't play anymore, that's what I'm planning and if he will force me to play one game, baka hindi na ako makakatiis at maglalaro pa ng kasunod. It's hard refusing a thing you like.

"You play?" Gaviel asked.

When I face him, our eyes locked. Kunot-noo siyang nakatitig ng mariin sa akin na parang may gusto siyang malaman.

"B-before. I just play when I'm bored, nothing serious. Just... just influence with friends." I bit my lower lip after I said it.

Magtatanong pa sana siya nang biglang tumunog ang cellphone ko sa loob ng bag. I excused myself and get my phone immediately. Clarissa is calling.

"Excuse me, I'll just take a call." I excused.

They gave me the go signal so I stand up and bowed my head a little before walking away while answering the call.

[Zed! I miss you] Clarissa's sob I heard first [Magta-transfer na ako, Zed. Hindi ako sanay na wala ka. Pupuntahan kita d'yan kahit tatlong oras ang byahe] she yelled, sobbing.

I can feel her sobs through the phone. I miss her so much but we can't do anything. Her life is in there, too far away from me. We are now stepping into a different world and we need to get used to it.

"You can visit me some other time. I am also missing you, but you don't need to transfer."

[Bahala na. Wala akong pakealam doon, Zed. Magkasama lang ulit tayo]

I can imagine her stamping her feet while pouting and tearing up. I miss my best friend so much.

"It's not a good idea, Clarissa. Sinasabi ko sa 'yo. My life here isn't easy. Hindi ka masasanay kaagad at kilala kita, hindi ka makakatagal sa ganito."

[Tangina naman kasi nito] from the way she said it, I know she's pouting.

I laugh a bit. I feel sorry for her, but the tone of her voice makes me laugh. Ganoon talaga, imbis na maaawa ako sakaniya ay matatawa nalang ako sa pagiging isip-bata niya.

[Anyway, you're fucking ex-fiancee is bugging the hell out of me] she changed the topic [Hinahanap ka niya sa akin, parang gago]

Ilang araw na ang lumipas at wala akong balita sa nangayari noong nakaraang linggo. I was avoiding that topic because it hurts me.

"Did you tell him?"
