Steve dove behind the lumpy wall and Loki swiftly followed, pressing his back against the wall, the young god said nothing as he watched Steve fumble with the device in his hands.

He lifted it in front of him and began to speak to it.

"Not sure if this is broadcasting to everyone or– or just you, Tony. But..."

The supersoldier trailed off, and the screams and sounds of explosions became clearer.

"We're got a problem."

An agitated look flashed over Loki's face and Steve unknowingly shifted the camera view so Loki would be in the frame as well.

A frustrated yell sounded close by.

Steve recognized her immediately.

"Wanda!"

The blonde went to stand up but Loki pinned him to the ground.

Loki put a shaky finger up to his lips and jerked his head frustratedly to the left.

Ebony Maw and Proxima Midnight were taking a casual stroll in the midst of all the chaos.

"...remember that little blue runt father picked up once? Black hair, the hopeless prince of Asgard?"

Maw hummed in response, pressing his fingers closer together.

"Wouldn't it be nice to kill him?" She snarled.

Loki pursed his lips unsteadily when Steve turned to face him.

"After his failure to the almighty Thanos he is not worthy of the grace that death would bring him."

The pair stopped short a few feet away from Steve's and Loki's hiding spot, unknown to the Captain, Loki had put a cloaking spell on them to make them invisible but something or someone could still stumble into them.

Maybe the silencing part of it would falter and they would be heard.

Then with a flick of her wrist, Proxima stabbed her long three-pronged spear into a scuffling body.

It stopped moving.

Steve had not dared to take a breath, but he flipped the camera.

When they were out of view, Loki took the other man by the arm and dragged him away before Steve could even think about asking who those two beings were.

"Hurry."

No more words were exchanged.

The camera flew out of the Captain's grasp but he did not care, for after the mere moment was over he was back to fighting for his life—no, fighting for the humanity and life of the universe.

And when Loki parted from him, he did not know that this was the last moment he would see him again.

Moments last, but not forever.

He was gone.
