And there was Steve Rogers, with his late growth spurt, lying on a hospital table with no shoes on his feet.
"Now how long ago did the pain start?" The doctor asked Steve, walking around the table to join his side again.
"I don't know, a– a few weeks?" He stuttered out.
"Growing pains. I took him to see our doctor. He's a bad doctor. He's– He stands there texting while I'm talking to him." Steve's mother had her arms crossed as she spoke to the doctor. "He diagnosed Steve with growing pains." She said it as if it was unbelievable.
Steve titles his head back slowly, annoyance clear in his expression.
"But, you know, I grew up and growing pains did not cause me to fall down on the soccer field."
Steve glanced at his mother, "Mom, you're being a little dramatic right now."
"Your pain is dramatic to me for sure."
Steve nodded off, trying to keep a calm composure.
"Your mom's right. It's a good thing that you came," the doctor said. And she touched his knees, indicating for him to stand.
"Okay, thanks. Because it does hurt. Everything hurts, all the damn time."
His mother adjusted the blonde boy's pillow and the doctor kneeled.
"Okay, well, I'm going to give you a quick exam, and you're going to let me know if the pain gets worse, okay?" And she stood up.

The blonde doctor left for a little while, but she came back with another doctor soon enough. He was holding some kit in his hands. A tall woman with black hair walked up to the blonde one and immediately made some emotional conversation whilst a brunet doctor attempted to put an IV in Steve's arm.
The dark haired doctor walked away and Steve's doctor turned around and apologized.
"Okay, so let's take a look at the x-rays."
Sarah, Steve's mother, got in the face of the doctor, Arianna Robinson.
"Do I need to take my son to another hospital?"
"What?" Arianna said, confusion flushing her facial features.
"That doctor's hands are shaking as he tries to stick my son with a needle." She gestured to the two. "And those nurses are crying. You and your friend– what the hell is going on here?"
"There was an accident," Arizona nodded. "One of our people died."
The doctor, who just so happened to have the same name as Sarah's son, sniffled, continuing to struggle with the IV.
The two woman glanced at them and then returned to their conversation. "Steve is my person. He's my only person. And... something is wrong with him. So what I'm asking you is, do I need to take him somewhere else?"
"No."
No."
I'll make Steve my person, okay?"
I'll make Steve my person, too." She nodded again.

"You too, huh, growing pains."
Sarah Rogers was sitting at the foot of the bed that her son was sitting on as well, wearing a hospital gown, while Arianna Robinson was sitting comfortably in a chair.
