Wakanda, After Battle Was Won.
"Loki."
The little god warily approached his brother.
"Why do you keep doing this?" Thor prodded.
He didn't answer.
"I know you're here not to stay."
Loki Laufeyson clasped his hands together, titled his head and finally spoke. "I prefer to not linger if I am not needed." The raven's voice was still scratchy and hoarse, but it somehow sounded light and airy as he was speaking somewhat quietly. And then his throat still bore the obvious marks of a giant handprint; his neck stained in all different colors.
"Not needed?"
"I've been trying my very best to separate the Infinity Stones over these short years."
"Yes, by wielding the–"
"No. That's not how it is."
"OH, THEN HOW IS IT REALLY?" The thunderer practically roared in anger. "YOU DON'T GO AROUND CAUSING CHAOS AND DESTRUCTION EVERYWHERE YOU GO?" He spat.
Other reuniting friends were beginning to steal glances at the sight of the two arguing.
"Chaos and destruction seems to be the unfortunate pattern that follows me but it all works out in the end for everyone..."
But me."
Thor let out a small scoff and resisted the urge the drop his axe, cross his arms and make a face like a little boy. "I'm not so sure about that, you're doing great!" His voice lacked the enthusiasm the phrase should have had. Instead it was filled with a deep distressing resentment, even if he went an octave higher on the last line to act in a mocking manner.
"Oh, Thor." He shook his head and chuckled darkly whilst looking down. "You have no idea." Suddenly, weary, sparkling emerald green eyes met Thor's mismatched ones. "You have no idea because you never bothered to ask."
"What is it now!"
"Nothing is fine for me. Do you know what it is like to have your memories spread across the void like ashes and your mind undone? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO FEEL THAT WAY? To– To be controlled? Brain not your own anymore? Exposed and stripped until you're bare with only your weaknesses and insecurities for your worst enemies to see?"
Loki barely paused to take a breath, he could go on for a decade but it hurt him so much to admit to what was done to him.
This is Thor, he told himself, he needs to know.
He needs to come clean.
"Brother, you never bothered to ask what happened after I fell. You failed to realize my actions were so unlike me, all the signs I tried to show you and you still fell blind, Thor. You finally found your long lost brother." Loki sounded bitter. "And you felt you were right about something! Just another thing to prove your worthiness because you were correct about your brother being a complete megalomaniac, hungry for power. I have told you this before Thor, I never wanted the throne."
Thor looked away, refusing to look at his teary eyes filled with pain. He'd seen that look so often before, but now it was daunting. Why? Because all the last events had aged not only Thor to manhood, but Loki as well. He was still only a boy in Asgardian culture, yet acted so mature. To see him constantly hurting like this drove Thor to the edge.
"I only ever wanted to be your equal," The god of thunder quoted his brother, whispering; lips barely forming the words as his gaze traveled to the ground before him.
