Y/n's POV:
"Come on, let's go somewhere else." I said. I had almost fallen asleep on his chest but I wanted to do something. If this was the last day he would be here like this, then I didn't want to waste it. He stood and took my hand to help me up. I folded the blanket up and tucked it under my arm. He held my hand as we walked back to my car. Loki was the first person that I could feel comfortable in complete silence with, like we didn't have to say anything to each other and that was okay.We got into the car and I turned to look at him.
"Do you have any ideas?" He shook his head, looking even more distant than before.
"Hey you okay?" I asked him. He looked at me and smiled a little.
"Yeah. Uh, where did you say you wanted to go?" I rolled my eyes.
"I just asked you."
"Sorry I was thinking."
"That's new." I smirked and he chuckled. I drummed my fingers on the steering wheel.
"Hmm. I know."We got out of the car and went to one of my favorite places.
"C'mon. You couldn't think of anything besides a book shop?" I elbowed him in the arm.
"Excuse me, you need to find better books than that." I nodded back to the car where his book lay, some incredibly old boring thing, and he scoffed.
"I like that stuff thank you very much." I rolled my eyes.
"Well you could do so much better." I tugged him over to the fictional section.
"Why fictional?"
"What? Why fictional why would you ask that? Nonfiction is literal shit. Fiction is just so much better. You can escape from your world."
"I like nonfiction." He murmured.
"Because you're an idiot." I said and he moved closer so me.
"You're the idiot." He whispered and kissed me longingly. He put his hands on my waist and I put my arms around his neck. I pulled away and rested my forehead on his. I wish we could stay like this forever. He pulled away as someone came down the aisle and looked back at the books. The closeness was now gone and I had to play along. Still, he moved his hand and laced his fingers through mine. For the next hour, we looked through every book in the fiction section, arguing and disagreeing over almost every book. All of these arguments would end with one of us kissing the other out of spite. Once we were done, we had bought seven books out of both of us. We got into the car and I put the books in the back seat. I took one out and hugged it to my chest, thrilled to read it. Loki laughed at me and I blushed. I started the car and ran a hand through my blue-streaked hair.
"Where to now?" I asked. It was 2:30. Tony's party would start at about 5:00 so we still had plenty of time. Then an idea popped into my head. "Coney Island."
"Where?"
"You'll love it, maybe." I said. "Although it is pretty far away." I looked at him.
"Oh don't say it-"
"We're teleporting." He groaned.
"I don't like teleporting. It's so exhausting."
I made a fake pouty face at him. "Suck it up." I teleported us straight to Coney Island. Illegal? Maybe. It was a week day so it wasn't very crowded there. I took his hand and we ran to the line for the Cyclone. As soon as we got on, he tensed up. "Is the God of Mischief scared of a little roller coaster?" I teased him.
"N-no. It's just, purely made out of old wood."
"Yeah. Oh. Are you afraid it'll break underneath us?" He gripped the handlebars. I laughed at him.
"We're both gods here honey. We can survive the fall." I said to him. He smiled nervously as the car started to climb up the steep hill. He took my hand and squeezed it so tight I thought it would break. "Stop being such a baby!" I yelled as the car flew down. My head hit the back of my chair and I laughed. I looked over at Loki and he was screaming. We went upside down and around several times until it came to a stop. He looked green.
"Oh shit don't throw up on me." We got out and I leaned against him, incredibly dizzy. I grabbed his arm and laughed so hard I almost cried. "You were screaming so much!" He shook his head.
"I was not screaming."
"Yes you were you were screaming like a baby," I laughed and he cracked a smile, beginning to laugh with me.We walked around trying to regain our postures when we came up to a piano. There was a sign, stating that anyone could play it. He turned to look at me. "Go and play it."
"No. I'm not playing out here."
"Yes you are I'm making you."
"No Loki I can't there's people watching." He looked around and scoffed.
"No ones watching. Go and play." He pushed me over to the piano. I rolled my eyes but knew there was no way to get out of this. I sat down at the bench and looked around. He smirked at me and I looked down at the keys. I took a deep breath and began to play a melody. I got into it and people began to gather around, watching the Avenger play piano at Coney Island. Once I was done, everyone clapped and I blushed. I ran to Loki and he laughed at me. "That was beautiful." He said, brushing my hair behind my ear. I thanked him and I checked the time. 3:30. "We should probably be heading back." I said and he looked down. He nodded and I could tell what he was thinking. This whole time, it felt like we were in our own little bubble, where the negative thoughts were gone and replaced with adoration. Now, it was like stepping back into reality. I checked my phone. I had gotten several missed texts from Wanda and Nat, questioning where I was. No one knew that he was here. I had him entirely to myself for now.
Loki decided he wanted to go to the party and surprise everyone. "God you're so dramatic." I told him. "Look who's talking."
We drove back and I got a dress out of my room, hiding it from Loki. I grabbed makeup and other necessities that I would take to Wandas to get ready. As I was packing up my stuff, Loki walked into my room.
"Y/n, um,"
"Yes?"
"I just wanted to thank you for today. I really liked that." I walked to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist and we gently swayed to the silent sounds of the house.
"What's gonna happen to us Loki?" I asked him, tears pricking the side of my eyes. We both were on such different pages it was painful.
"I don't know y/n." He said, searching my eyes for the answer.
"You could stay you know. It would solve a lot of our problems." I told him but he backed away, his walls building back up, pushing me away. "I-I can't risk it." Before I could say anything more, Thor came in the front door and Loki disappeared. I told Thor where I was going and grabbed my stuff, a painful knot forming in my stomach. We should've talked about this earlier and not have ignored it. We have now set ourselves up for something worse.
