Y/n's POV:

Worry
Fright
Stress

I sat down next to Scott on the jet. He took my hand.
"Y/n, I know this is going to sound stupid, but you have to relax a bit. If you're freaking out then I'm freaking out and then two of the best Avengers will be in turmoil."
He didn't put it correctly, but he was right. I squeezed his hand, unable to respond or say anything to the team.

Thor rushed on and hugged me. I let a few tears escape and took a deep breath.
"Don't worry Lady Y/n. I'm here." He rubbed my back and I wanted to melt to the ground in a sobbing puddle. He sat down with me and held my hand the whole way there.

It was unbearably hot here and I put on my suit by a press of a button. Time to find her.
Tony gave me my earpiece and I took the south entrance with Thor, Nat, and Sam. The others went to the north entrance. Our plan was simple on paper: turn off cameras, find Jo, escape, blow up the facility. Luckily, I wasn't in charge of turning off the cameras this time and immediately went in. I snapped a soldiers neck and threw two more against a wall.
If my sister wasn't taken, if I wasn't hurt by Hydra, then I would be more worried about casualties. But now, I couldn't care less.
We went down several hallways and I got separated away from the others.
"I shut off the cameras." Bruce said in the earpiece. My breath quickened as I turned into a dark corridor.

Something wasn't right. I turned on a flashlight and saw a trail of blood on the floor. It led into a room in which the door was shut to. "Jo?" I ask into the dark. No answer. I shout her name and hear a ragged breath inside. I tried to use an energy blast to open the door but it didn't work. They know how to take away my powers. I kicked the door down and saw an empty room. The room was blinding white and padded on every wall but one on the side where a window was to a lab. The blood trail circled around the room and then stopped in the center. I walked to the center of the room and the door slammed shut behind me. I turned and saw a man holding a gun to Jo. She looked horrid, her eyes were hollow and bloodshot and her black hair was ratted. Her skin was flushed and she looked like if I touched her, then her back would snap.

"So you actually came to the party." The man said and I recognized his voice from the call. I began to create energy balls in my hands.
"Let go of her." He clicked his tongue.
"It doesn't work that easily. If you want to have her back, you'll have to give me something in return for all the innocent people you've killed. You really are turning into the monster we created." He snickered and loaded the gun.
"You didn't create me. I'm stronger than you." He shrugged.
"Maybe, but I'm the one with the gun to her head." Jo whimpered.
"Please y/n just do what he says." She looked angry and tears were running down her face.
"What do you want from me?" I yell.
"I want you. You are the lab rat that escaped its confinement. Morteese was weak and tried to get you to join the easy way. But you're smarter than that. So come back to us and I will let your sister go." He said. I shook my head.
"No. I'm not falling for that again." He tilted his head.
"You're a monster." He told me. I clenched my fists.
"I'm not a monster. You're the one with a gun to her head." He laughed and loosened her grip.
"Now." I whisper into the comms. Nat runs in and kicks the man in the head. The man shoots the gun and the bullet hits Jo. By now, more people are running in and the Avengers are starting to join in. Jo runs off to what I assume is safety and I attack the scientists that guard me from running after her.

The halls are all dark and I run around calling her name. Finally, I walk past a room where I hear, "y/n. Please help me."
I run in and Jo is clutching her side. She is covered in blood and it's beginning to pool around her. I lift her up but I can't teleport. I cradle her in my arms.
"Tell me a story y/n." I shake my head.
"No don't start talking like that. We're going to get out of here I'm not leaving you." I brush the hair out of her paling face. Her eyes begin to flutter.
"Jo. Look at me. You want to hear a story? You have to stay awake for it please stay awake. Don't close your eyes." She blinks heavily and looks at me.
"Um, remember when we were kids and we used to have that tree house. What was it called?" I already knew the answer, but I had to keep her with me.
"C-camp L-lock flint" I smile and nod.
"Yeah. Remember when it was so sunny and warm outside and the wind was blowing a nice cool breeze. You said it was your favorite weather." She begins to cough and I grip her hand.
"Jo. Please. There's still going to be days like that. You have to stay awake for them. Once we get out of here, I'm taking you back to New York. We can go have picnics and read and do all the nerdy stuff you like to do..." she looks at me as if looking at me for the first time.
"I love you Y/n. Smile for me." Her shoulders begin to shake and I put on a smile for her.
"There we go." She smiles at me and her hand falls out of mine.

Thor's POV;
I hear Y/n scream and I run to her. We have killed and captured all of the guards. I find her in a pool of blood, her sisters lifeless body being held up in her shaky arms.
"No. Jo. Wake up please. Please." I hear her beg and sob. I hesitate to walk in the room. Her  back stiffens and she flies up.
"Get everyone out now." I hear her say in the comms. I don't hesitate for that and run out the door. We run as far as we can away and I watch as the entire Hydra base destroyed in a blue glow. I see Y/n in the air, and she dives down to the rubble, picking up her sisters body and lifting it up far in the air. She flies away out of my sight. Tony tries to locate her but he can't. It is complete chaos.

Most everyone gets back on the jet to go back but I raise my hammer into the air to be sent to Asgard without a second thought.

Loki's POV:

I try to push her entirely out of my mind but I pace my cell, worrying about Y/n and pissed that I left. I realize now it was stupid to go and that I need her. I pick up The Great Gatsby, a book with such a shitty ending. Is that how we were to turn out? With an ending as disappointing as Gatsby's?

Thor runs up to my cell and lets me out.
"What are you doing? What's wrong?" He won't  answer any of my questions which makes me more worried.
"We're going to Earth." Y/n.
I get a knot in my chest and immediately transform into better clothes and run my fingers through my hair. No matter what this is, I don't want to look like a mess in front of her. Thor scoffs and we run out the prison.

Y/n's POV:
I carry her to the hospital and yell for help. Doctors take her body away and try to save her. Fourteen minutes, twenty three seconds later, a doctor comes out looking grim, confirming what I already knew.
She was gone.

I can't be here anymore. I'm suffocating, I'm drowning and no one is there to pull me out of the water. I teleport back to my bathroom and I'm utterly alone. I feel so alone.

I pull my knees up to my chest and my entire body shakes. I'm taking short, sporadic breaths. The air I breathe is cold and icy down my throat. Tears are uncontrollably falling down my face, and I whisper these words to myself over and over again.

"She's dead. Jos gone. I have no one. She needed my help and I wasn't there to save her. I'm a fucking goddess and I couldn't save her life. She's gone." Everything was fading in and out and I felt like I was going to vomit.

Sometime during my attack someone opened the door, came in, and closed it behind him. He came and sat down across from me. My vision was blurred.
"She's dead. I couldn't save her. I have no one." I inform him.

And just like that, I'm back in Loki's arms. He holds me tight and wraps his arms around my shaking body. He smells of cedar pine and woodsy. He smells and feels like home. He rubs my back and doesn't try to say anything to me. He kisses me on the neck and shoulders. I sob into his shoulder.

"I'm never leaving you again. I promise you my love."
