Sophia
"Wow," I said, forcing a large smile. "That's great, Daniel."
"I know!" he said, turning back around and walking normally. "I can't wait for you to meet him!"
"So, it is a guy?" I remember that we were both worried in case his mate was a girl, but thankfully it wasn't.
"Yeah, and he's really cool! You'll love him!" he said.
I laughed. "So then, which one's the girl?" I asked him.
I knew asking that always bothered him, but I always did it just to mess with him. He hated that question that everyone asked him, but I was always there to defend him. People always asked him because he didn't sound gay, but once you get to know him, he is totally gay.
Daniel frowned at me and I laughed as we entered our class. Everyone else was already in there, only me and Daniel were that last ones to arrive. We took our assigned seats and I thought about what Daniel said. He found his mate too. He was a few months older than Charlie and me, so I could understand that, but Charlie found his the day of his birthday. Would I even have a mate? Tommy thought so, and he used a good example of mom and dad.
I put my head in my arms on the table and sighed. It was a good thing I sat in the back of the class, so when Mrs. Willemsen started teaching she didn't notice me. Should I tell mom about these thougths? I probably should, she would understand more than dad would. My head started hurting with all these thoughts going through it and I couldn't even raise my head to see what was happening.
"Sophia?"
I forced myself to open my eyes and look up. I saw Mrs. Willemsen standing next to me with a concerned look on her face.
"Are you feeling okay? You look a little pale."
I slowly sat up and noticed the other pack students were looking at me with concerned looks. I nodded to them and they went back to their math books. I looked back at my teacher.
"I'm not feeling the greatest."
It was the truth. Guilt and anger and confusion were shifting through me and I felt awful. I just wanted to go home and sleep, maybe cry, and tell mom everything.
Mrs. Willemsen nodded and said I was excused to go to the nurse. I stood up and took my stuff with me as I made my way down to the nurse's office. I was glad that he was a werewolf too because when I said I wasn't feeling good he told me to go ahead home.

I walked in the front door of my house and mom and dad were sitting on the couch watching a movie that was on TV. When the door closed they both looked at me with confusion before dad quickly stood up and walked over to me.
"Are you alright Squirt? Are you hurt?"
I felt hurt now that he said that. I also felt more anger, enough that I pushed my dad away a bit. He was very surprised by that, but it only made him think that I was injured.
"Do you have a broken rib? Or arm? Who did it honey? Did Charlie take care of him?" dad started asking.
I laughed angrily. "Yeah, ask Charlie to protect me because I can't do a good job of it myself."
Dad looked confused. Mom slowly stood up, but she didn't start walking over to me.
"Just ask Charlie to take me here and then spend the whole time keeping an eye on me. Ask Charlie, or even Tommy, to watch over me while you're gone because I'm too rotten at taking care of myself!" I yelled at them.
