Michael
"Oh hell no!"
I was suddenly pulled off my mate and thrown back. I growled loudly at the person who pulled me off her and I met the angry eyes of Charles. My mate was surprised and she was looking at Charles and then looked at me. I really wanted to hold her again, but when Charles put his hand on her shoulder and started to push her behind him, I growled again and jumped at him.
He jumped back and pushed my mate farther back, away from me.
"Don't touch her!" I shouted.
"You better not touch her!" Charles shouted back. He suddenly looked back at my mate and his face softened up, causing me to growl again. He ignored me as he asked her, "He didn't hurt you did he?"
I growled again at him, making him look at me. "Don't talk to her!"
"I can talk to her if I want to! She's my sister!"
My eyes widened and I stared at him and then I looked back at my mate, who was looking a me with shyness. I looked back at Charles who was frowning at me.
"Your...sister?" I asked.
"Yes! And don't touch her again!"
My mate frowned at her brother and put a hand on his shoulder, making him look at her. "Charlie..." she said sternly.
Charles swallowed and then took a deep breath. He almost looked afraid, and I couldn't help a smile from forming. Suddenly a few growls from behind me made me look back at the class. There was my five pack members facing about fifteen of Charles' pack members, and they were standing on opposite sides of the room growling at each other.
"Guys!" my mate snapped.
Suddenly, everyone stopped growling and everyone in Charles' pack looked at her in sympathy. Why was that? I nodded at my pack, telling them to stand down. I looked back at my mate and I smiled at her, causing her to smile as well. She was even more beautiful with a smile on her graceful face.
I took a step forawrd, but my foot hit a book that was on the ground. My mate was carrying these in. I quickly dropped down and started picking up the book and all the papers that were inside it. Once I had most of the papers picked up, my mate crouched down in front of me and took the book and papers out of my hands.
Our fingers brushed for a second and I felt sparks and tingles everywhere her skin touched mine. I looked up at her and she must've felt them to because she stared at me in surprise. I smiled at her and then I stood up and she quickly followed.
"Um, I'm Michael," I said. "Michael Hayes."
"Sophia Malone," she said. What a beautiful name.
"And I'm not having this," Charles said, walking up next to Sophia.
I growled at him, causing him to growl back. Why wasn't my mate growling at him? Was she not on my side? Well, her brother is her alpha, maybe that's why.
"Charlie, what are you doing?" Sophia asked, with a note of anoyance in her voice.
"You are not mates with him!" Charles said, looking at his sister. "I won't allow it!"
"Well, I'm not asking you to allow it!" she snapped. "I never said that I allowed you and Lily to be-"
"But he can't protect you!" Charles exclaimed. "You need me and your pack for that!"
"Protect her from what?" I asked. Was she in trouble?
"None of your business," Charles snapped at me.
